Totally get that wpr. Guess we 'll just have to see how it all plays out. I agree this season he has not looked great by any means. I'm just hopeful he turns it up to finish the year well.

Well, there are 3 games left to the regular season, and possibly the playoffs. Maybe Raji does something special in this stretch to warrant the contract? It is possible.

Personally, I think Raji has gotten somewhat of a bad rap from some fans. He has a purpose in Dom's D to take up space, take up blockers and do little else. He is there schematically to occupy opposing players to allow the playmakers to get home to finish plays. Raji had an unprecedented number of snaps that he played in 2010-2012. Having Jolly on our DL, along with an improved Daniels allows them to spread out his snaps to more players. as we've seen in this year.

He never complained, always showed up during that big stretch of games, two years + worth of high snap counts for the big fella.

I don't think he has played all that great this year, but he is a playmaker, and maybe we see him make a game changing play or two, or three throughout the remainder of our season. If he does, and we somehow win it all, I would definitely want him to return.

I'll never forget his INT return for a TD against CHI, and I will never forget how tough it is to find a quality player of his size in the middle of a 3-4.

Ever since I read about that supposed 8m contract offer i've been making it a point to specifically focus on Raji during games and he just isn't eating up blocks he's getting single blocked out of plays or getting stuffed and driven back at the line. His effort looks completely terrible and it isn't just the scheme because you can compare him to guys like Pickett and Jolly who are obviously playing much better even though their jobs are just to "eat blocks". He has been legitamately one of the worst players on the team this year which is pretty pathetic compared to what his overall talent level is.

As far as snap counts he was top 10 for his position in 2010 and 2011 but last year and this year he was more in the 20s so he's been less effective with playing less snaps. Maybe he will make a play some day but I think in order to be an effective block or space eater you have to sometimes pose a threat not just be out there. Based on what Raji has actually done this year his job can be done easily by a Jolly or a Boyd and not cost the team several million dollars.

This could be a defining moment in the opposite direction too. I honestly don't believe the majority of our players are as bad as they have shown these past 5 weeks. I think there has been a big disconnect between the staff and the players. If they were to somehow put it all together, maybe we beat ATL, without Rodgers, then maybe Rodgers is cleared v. DAL, and that might prove an even bigger, greater defining moment, should we win that one.

If this team miraculously starts getting it together, on both sides of the ball, and we make an improbable run, who knows what could happen? They've literally done it before, 4 seasons ago.

It seems far fetched at this point, with the poor showings we've had through 5 weeks of play, but I can see us still winning this division. DET can easily flop two. CHI will struggle to come out of this week with a W. If, somehow, the Packers pull off a good run to end the season 4-0, they would be one of the hottest teams in the NFL going into the playoffs, and they may shock the world again.

We are due for a lot of picks. We just are. If we can get both sides of the ball to get their shit together, along with STs, both players and coaches, maybe we see something special.

Ah, a man can dream, can't he?

Looks like this team is indeed putting it together, and now they control their own destiny. I wish them well, all the way through. Keep it goin' guys!

Martha Careful (25-Apr) : No thanks. Not a dependable guy to be in the right place and run the right route. Dumb as a box of rocks.
Zero2Cool (25-Apr) : Losing 2nd round pick for a one year rental, not ideal. Especially a headcase.
TheKanataThrilla (25-Apr) : Pickens for Jaire may be interesting. Definitely not sure we want Pickens long term.
