Matt Flynn's greatest success in the NFL came when he filled in for Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. He may get another chance to do that. The Packers plan to bring Flynn in for a workout, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. That indicates some level of interest in Flynn from the Packers' brass,...

If they're going to do so, should they not have done so already?

If they do sign them I would be guessing that Rodgers will be out for more than 3 weeks, because it would take Flynn atleast that long to get back to speed.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

He's proved he could do it before, so if he can get healthy, why couldn't he do it again, with a better running game?

Or perhaps McCarthy thinks he can get the same results with Wallace, with proper preparation. If so, awesome.

Sounds to me like he might be a backup plan in case Seneca shits himself.

I like this idea much better than the one where everyone wanted to just straight out sign him despite him looking awful all year. Now they can at least check out that elbow.

My guess is somebody who knows the system will be a better person to back-up and push Wallace. Let's just hope Flynn is medically cleared to play.

I can't say I put much stock into that because if I'm Matt Flynn, I drop EVERYTHING the second I see Aaron Rodgers go down and book a flight to Green Bay, regardless of being invited. That way when/if called, he can be like "No, I can't be Aaron Rodgers, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night".
