Gone for the year. Was looking forward to him and Lacy doing a 1-2 routine on defenses. šŸ˜£

Well, i'd rather have it be now then a couple games into the season. This way it doesn't waste a roster spot, and they know he won't be there so you can plan for who will be there.
I guess it gives Franklin a chance to show if he can do the job.

Truth time..

I had actually hoped that Harris would get a little hurt and force Mike McCarthy to start Lacy instead of him.

Apparently this dark magic is too much for me to control[aiee]

Now we just lost probably our most effective player to substitute to give the big guy a breather. There is not a single instance where that's remotely a positive thing. Being able to limit the amount of touches Lacy gets and still be effective running the ball would have been fantastic. We may or may not have that with the guys we have now but they sure haven't looked the part lately

mostly I just don't trust this staff to make the correct decision on who to field.

I mean,

They started Brady Poppinga over Clay Matthews for fucks sake(wk 1-3).

They trotted out Jarrett Bush as a starter when every Packer fan on the planet knew that was a terribibble idea.

Erik Walden, the worst LB in the league started for 2 years. Literally anyone could have been an improvement over him

Then there was the whole Derek Frost / John Ryan thing.

And i'm gonna toss in a "Graham Harrell blows.. always has, and its amazing that nobody inside GB HQ took any action until 4 offseasons later, when it was absolutely clear he is an incapable even as a back up".

I wasn't wishing him to be paralyzed or anything, but when Mike McCarthy crowned him the starter despite still being on the PUP, it only further reinforced my opinion on his ability to make the right choice. So it wasn't as much that I wanted Harris hurt... as that I wanted the decision to be taken away from MM.

get my drift?

Jarrett Bush started 1 game and I'm pretty sure he was more or less benched by halftime and even that was mostly due to how terrible Shields looked in training camp.

Walden came in as Frank Zombo's back up and the next year he started with Zombo (kept getting hurt) and Vic So'oto as his back ups. then the next year he was back up to Perry (got hurt). Who on the team was so good of an OLB that Mike McCarthy should have let play? Certainly nobody the quality that Lacy is as a RB.

So what does Derek Frost have to do with McCarthy? Sounds more like a ST coordinator/TT thing.

Graham Harrell has nothing to do with whether McCarthy lets the best players on the field. Who has been a better back up on the team than Graham that didn't get to play because of MM? Nobody, because when one showed up Mike McCarthy got rid of him.

Like I said if Lacy is as advertised he would get enough snaps and it's even a GOOD thing for his snaps to be limited somewhat because it's a long season for a rookie and RB tend to get banged up easily (Lacy has a pretty well documented injury history too). It matters not 1 bit who is the "starter". Grant was the starter for the majority of 2011 but Starks got just as much playing time. They may try and limit Lacy's snaps anyways and it'll be best if our rushing productivity doesn't completely PLUMMET when that happens.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
