Yes, the Packers have been "soft" for several seasons now. Most of it comes with the style of football the organization chooses to play. However, relatively speaking, the Packers have been and will continue to be soft until they consistently prove otherwise, especially against the very physical teams. Beating up on a few bottom dwellers doesn't make a team "tough" or "physical." Neither does a game or two against good opponents. They have to do it consistently, imo.

Having additional toughness, as the Packers seem committed to this year, but still choosing to play "soft" like Dodd said, should be a pretty good recipe for success.

I don't so much mind a softer offense given the Packers personnel, but I undoubtedly would like a tougher, more talented defense.

I just feel the Packers Defense does not have a great leader right now. I love Clay, but we need a captain. We lost Nick Collins, and Cullen Jenkins, and never really replaced either player...So yes, I feel the "D" is a lil soft

Yes, Packers have been a soft team. Last season, I was thinking the Packers had a better chance against the 49ers in Candlestick than Lambeau Field because the 49ers are a much more physical team and those teams tend to dominate finesse teams in the cold.

I went back over my posts for the last couple years.. I stopped counting at 15 references to them being a soft finesse team... if even I can see this, it has been no mystery that this is a "SOFT" team.

And I don't expect the culture to change in a single off season.. MM cultivated this via scheme and play calling.. it will take some time to correct their dough boyish underbelly.

I think Mike finally realized it himself and the beating SF gave them last year. He looks at 350 pound DL and 310 OL and all those biceps and just couldn't imagine they were in fact soft.

Learning curve for the coach.
