I'm not sure that Bromley is so much concerned about fanatics as he is about idiots. There is a difference. People like St. Vince are fanatics to be sure but as far as I know they are not idiots. I've been to a few Packers games and I have seen a lot of fanatics. most of them were a pleasure to be around and to associate with. Sadly, I have seen more than a few idiots as well. Fanatics cheer on their teams, many of them do so in what might be considered strange or weird ways. Every team has them and they are nothing to be ashamed of. In fact they should be embraced (maybe some should be embraced by a white coat with long sleeves that tie in the back but that is beside the point) Unfortunately, every team has their share of idiots as well. While it is true that many of the idiots are also fanatics, the ways that they cheer on their team often times goes beyond strange or weird. Often times their behavior is crude, obnoxious and disrespectful. Obviously alcohol is a factor in the behavior of a lot of the idiots but not always. Sometimes people are just natural A-holes. Like I have said, I've seen my share of these people and it's these people that I think Mr Bromley is worried about. Indeed these are the ones I would be worried about. If the program is filled with people like St. Vince than I would venture to guess most Packers fans would find it entertaining and not at all demeaning. If, on the other hand, you get a bunch of loudmouth louts who spew disparaging remarks about opposing teams and their fans it could be something no one wants to be associated with.
