Ohh.. this could turn out to be some fun. A little manufactured drama across the Mississippi. After 2008, it would be fun to sit and watch this situation unravel more.

At least he is honest and it is about the money.

Jared Allen has “absolutely no idea” if he’ll stay with the Vikings

Earlier this week, Vikings defensive end Jared Allen said that he and the Vikings “haven’t talked one iota” about a new contract, but you can’t say the same about his conversations with the media.

Allen told Dan Wiederer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that he has “absolutely no idea” where he will wind up playing in 2014 after his contract, which will pay him more than $14 million in 2013, with the Vikings expires. He’s seen veteran teammates like Matt Birk and Antoine Winfield wind up heading elsewhere and knows that this might be it for him in Minnesota, something that he admits would not be the case in his best-case scenario.

“Best-case scenario would have been that we would have never gotten to this point. Best-case scenario would have been the organization would have gotten something done a few years back,” Allen said. “Well ya know what? That’s not the case. And I understand it. … I’m just happy I’m in a spot where both sides are honoring the contract.”

And unravel it will.
You can lay to that!
An unstable personality and a wacko franchise will make for some good drama.
If only Mike Tice were still the coach, he could add some good sound bites to this comedy of errors in vikingville.😆

Yup.. Sounds like he really is on his way out.. 🙄 😳

"When I say things like 'restructure' ... I'm excited I'm a part of an organization that doesn't ask me to do that. I don't worry about it. As long as you take care of what you have to take care of in between these white lines and aren't a complete idiot outside of them, the money will take care of itself."

Does it really even matter? He's coming off a knee injury and is in his golden years anyway. I hope they break the bank on him, AGAIN.

Point was, there are no certainties with this situation. I'd say it's a 50/50 chance he is signed in Purple again.

I'll still defend the Jennings signing with simple economics: More the need = more value = bigger transaction. Simply put, if the Vikings had a true #1 WR, they wouldn't have offered as much as they did. Wasn't so much about league-wide value as it was the team's need.

But hey, if we compare it to the Bernard Berrian signing, the Vikings got a STEAL with Jennings. [grin1]

buckeyepackfan (20h) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (20h) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.
buckeyepackfan (20h) : Turnovers rule, win the turnover battle, win the game.
packerfanoutwest (20h) : well, he was
TheKanataThrilla (20h) : Eagles down by contact on the fumble....fuck you NFL

packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : that being said, The Ravens are the Browns
packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : Browns, Dolphins have longest AFC Championship droughts
packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : As of today, Cowboys have longest NFC Championship drought,

beast (26-Jan) : I'm confused, Pete Carroll and Brian Schottenheimer? When Todd Monken, Joe Brady, Kellen Moore, Kliff Kingsbury and Zac Robinson are availab

dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
