I see alot of people blaming the defense for the losses which is partially right. I got to do some figuring on stats and came across that our defense and return teams have scored the most points in the nfl. We have 9 tds so far this year and we still have Detroit coming to town. The next highest scoring defense is actually Da Bears. with 7 TDs and 1 safety. I just figured it was time to stop bashing the defense so much because their scoring has actually helped us win games. They actually helped win the opener when Blackmon returned the punt which became the difference in the game and then the following week against the Lions our D got us the lead back, and finally our D won the game against the Colts.

Like i said i just wanted to look at some bright spots for the Defense seeing most our blaming them for our losses.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

You make some good points but the fact is that our defense HAS lost us games. There is no reason the Packers should have lost the Carolina (I think it was this game) game after scoring 31 points.

Time after time our offense gives us the lead and our defense blows it at the end of the game.

Well the defensive scores and Al Harris coming back from injury have been the only good stories this season on defense unfortunately :xcensoredx:

That is one thing about the stats they don't show everything. The team is scoring at about the same rate as last year. When looking at the Defensive and ST scoring. You have to look at when those scores were.

2 against Detoit when the team was already in the lead, and two against Indy again when the game was in the bag pretty much. Which also contributes to the fact the the team has out scored it opponents even with a losing record.

I have seen people complaining about the offense not controlling the time of possession. If you would give the offense another 9 possessions, how much greater would that stat be better.

The main thing is the offenses job is to score more than the D gives up and the Defenses job is to give up less points than the O is scoring. If either or both fail, then the team loses. This year has been a combination of both.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

The defensive and special teams scores were awesome in the first half of the season. It is a good thing to have some big-time playmakers on defense, especially Woodson and Collins, and you might throw Tramon Williams in there as well. Those guys do give us that X factor so that if this defense could get its act together it could be really great.
