The Packers have

Nelson, Jones and Cobb which are locks. But Jones is going into his contract year and might be gone next season.
(Jennings signed with the Vikings)

Then Boykin and Ross who both showed good potential but weren't amazing ether.

Boykins showed he could get a bit open and wouldn't catch it if the ball got close to him.

Ross shows a lot of speed and quickness and MM was using him a bit like Cobb towards the end and sounds like MM thinks Ross might be able to take Cobb off return duties. Seems like everyone remembers Ross fumbled one in the 49ers game... but Cobb fumbled two in the 49ers game so it's still possible Ross could be the return man going forward.

So is WR a draft need? And if so how badly?

I want to see us go to more size and more multi-TE sets 🙂

But

Williams seemed to drop most his passes.

Quarless has been injuries and I'm not sure if he'll be fully healed or not... and had a problem dropping passes even when he was healthy.

Taylor, I remember him being used as a blocker and on STs, I don't remember really going out in routes, but he caught one for the season so yeah.

I only remember 1 year out of the last 20 or so when we had dog shit at WR - Schroeder and Bradford were 2 & 3 behind Freeman, then DD stepped up the next year and we got Walker and Turd Ferguson, who was OK before the Donovan Darius decapitation attempt. WR is not a worry of mine, but RB and OLine is.

I don't think it's a dire need but I wouldn't be against Ted Thompson spending a pick from round 4 or later on a WR who'd most likely be a one or two year project.

First is DL.
2nd is C or RB Brian Schwenke, C or Mike Gillislee, RB
3rd WR. Terrance Williams, WR

Nelson was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft

Jones drafted by the Packers in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

Cobb was drafted in the 2nd round (64th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers

He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers out of Western Michigan University in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft.

Teddy seems like he aims for that 2nd to 3rd round for a WR n has been pretty decent at finding talent in that position.. I am excited to see what happens.

Wouldnt doubt if Ted goes 2nd round wideout (seems to be his MO almost), we have little insurance at wideout beyond this year so it be a good move. Sucks we have to blow a pick on another wideout with Jennings' defection though.

I don't think WR is a need but I think we will draft one anyway, and I think he will be good because Ted has a very good history of drafting good-great skilled position players.
