I could care less about the Bears game, but for god sakes, don't lose to the lions.

I say go with a Defensive lineman, probably DE. That might not be what he's gonna do, but he should.

If the Packers give the Lions their only victory this season at Lambeau.. I... I ...

Think I have been barking the last couple weeks.. I might have to break 9 more fingers and a couple of toes so I can't type on the keyboard.

That there might be enough to push me over the edge and start to call for Mike McCarthy to be dismissed.. either that or a good share of the position coaches.

I'd like to bear the Bears. Stop them from getting into the play-offs etc.

I'd also like to win against the Lions... just because they're the Lions.

Also, 7-9 and 5-11 is a pretty big difference, the difference between an ok team and a bad team, since you all like to say 'You're as good as your record' over here.

If we go 7-9, I hope he doesn't trade back. We would get like the 13th pick, I guess?

If we somehow go 5-11, He should maybe trade back a bit, but I'd like to get that premiere first round rookie once. Maybe even a running back. Look at Landwhale and Chris Johnson, the Jets duo and even the Vikings duo. I could see us land a AP-kinda back in the first round, fast, agile and have Grant as a sort of Chester Taylor... Although that would leave some gaping holes along the lines again.

Thank god I'm not the GM. I'm just here to critizise his every mistake.

What should the Packers do?

Stay put and take the best lineman on the board. Whether it's a DE, DT, OG, or OT.

My guess is probably not a guard at that point. The only player I'd trade down for is Tyson Jackson and maybe Michael Johnson.

Of course it depends on what happens in free agency, but then again nothing ever happens in free agency so my assumption is this first pick absolutely needs to be an impact player for this team to advance.

If McCoy from OU comes out, he certainly has a chance to go in the top 15. Greg Hardy of Mississippi is probably the best 4-3 DE in the draft.

Trade back, hopefully to around 20-23rd pick. Dependent upon where we finish in the draft order, should be at LEAST a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. In a deep line draft. As you stand there in outrage at such a concept, contemplate the fact that there is a very, very high probability that the TWO best guards in the country and the BEST center in the country will ALL be on the board this year in SECOND round. We will have 3 second round picks in my scenario. The problem will be in finding a trade partner, of course there are many factors in that, not the least of which is the possibility/calculation that there might be a rookie salary cap coming in 2010. This factor WILL be considered come draft day, imo.

Knowing Thompson's philosophy that is probably very realistic and something that probably will happen.

I want to see him be more aggressive this year though since the Packers have enough young players on the roster. I don't see the need for a 10 to 12 player draft.

Since the Packers could end up with an extra 2nd rounder, I would use one of the seconds to move up into the late part of round 1 and take another lineman.

If I were GM, I would have the Packers coming out of this draft with at least two lineman in the first round. One on offense and the other on defense and this isn't' counting free agency where I would add two maybe three lineman. In total I believe the Packers need to fix their trenches so to speak and three offensive lineman and two defensive lineman is the route I would take this off season using both the draft and hopefully free agency for a change.

I think we have to hit the trenches in the first round this season, we need a nice infusion of depth there, especially at De, Okrapo from Texas would look nice in a uniform although I think it'd take him a little to get used to the pros. If we could find a DE in Free Agency or through a trade that'd be best, and then grabbing a Gaurd, Tackle or D-Tackle with our pick would work out best.

There are 4 OT projected in the top 15. If we don't land one of those guys, I am going to be thoroughly disappointed. If memory serves didn't Tauscher go down with a season/career ending knee surgery? And if you rewatch the 2nd Minny/GB game, Clifton looked like he put on cement shoes for that game.

Besides, were going to get Haynesworth the first day of free agency right?

This guy is really good and since he is from an FCS school he may not go very early. Could possibly be worth taking a chance on.

I was thinking about this today and hear me out before you start bashing me. With one of the 2nd round picks (i can't believe i'm going to say this) we select Tim Tebow. Ok stop laughing but hear me out. They project him to be a TE in the pros but what about we line him at TE and on some plays put him in the backfield and run a different type of wildcat. That only would cause the defenses to have to study more film and worry about more then Grant run left Rodgers slant pass. As far as our #1 i'm not even going to think about it because i can see Ted Thompson taking some guy that has been injured and not ranked very high on others boards.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Tebow? Really? MMMM how bout NO

I like the thought but we need more help on DEFENSE right away then trying to add a new wrinkle in the offense

And Ted only picks guys that are injured and not on top of any ones boards?

Ummm

So

4 #1's and you claim that Ted only drafts players like Justin?

Got ya!

beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
