My daughter started her first post college job today.
She is a history and econ double major so what is she doing? She is a law clerk for a suburban law firm. =d> =d> =d>
My wife and I are so excited.

side note- she has a young man who she enjoys being around. He treats her well.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me walk through the minefield without making a major mistake.

Thing is DT, our little girls have no idea how we suffer as we strive to give them all they deserve and more.
Then again many do. One of my favorite songs is a C&W tune. (I don't ever listen to C&W music.)
Daddy's Hands - Holly Dunn

I my little girl chooses that as our song to dance to I am ok with that.

I have learned a little more about her job since I first posted.

She works from 11-5.
Good news is there is no morning commute.
Bad news 30 hrs a week is going to make her part time with no bennys.
Good news is there is some training involved for her position so they asked her for a min commitment of a yr.
Bad news is if she does fine a better job she feels obligated to wait until the year is over. (Of course all things are more or less subjective. If she finds a job in 2 weeks she won't change. If she finds on in 6 months that doubles her income and provides benefits I don't think they would try and hold her back.)
So far she loves what she is doing. One of the jobs is to take legal documents across the street to the court house. They have a kiosk to file the papers. She enters the codes needed and puts them into the machine. It is an "attorney only" machine but apparently that means "attorneys and staff only".

That's great, wpr! Congratulations! You must feel very proud for raising your daughter and seeing the results of her working hard and being successful.

But- you listened to Dakota šŸ¤¦

haha j/k

I'm about to graduate, too, and almost daily I am thankful for my incredible parents because, as I have been exposed to more and more people in college, I have seen that it is a rarity these days. Being a parent may be the most difficult job, and we have some great ones on this board! =d>

good luck to you coltonja after graduation. I told my kids it is very very common to end up in a field outside of what your degree is in so don't let that frustrate you. You may come back around to it later in life. Not working in that field may be the best thing that ever happens to you.

My story of support begins with my grandparents and continues down through both sets of my parents (my wife's are included as my parents too.) through my sisters and brothers to my kids and nieces and nephews. My mother tells me when she gets together with her "old lady" peers all she hears is how their kids don't call or stop by to see them. How they hate their daughter-son inlaws yada yada. Every once in a while they stop bitching to ask my mom what is happening. She says that has has no complaints. She loves her children including the in laws and we all love her. We all call her or stop in for a visit including the adult grandkids. They don't believe her. And frankly Mom doesn't care.

as far as parenting goes just think of the old Peace Corps slogan, ā€œItā€™s the toughest job youā€™ll ever love.ā€ That doesn't even come close. There are a thousand long nites where you sit up with the kids. Countless trips to the doctors office or football practices. A bazillion times of being the arbiter between kids and one hug pays it all in full.

Zero2Cool (4h) : And the reason I think it is BS, is Bill isn't going to pine for a job that's not available. He respects the whole coaching people thing
Zero2Cool (4h) : I think it's BS. Jets thought win now with Rodgers, not happening.
beast (4h) : The rumor could be BS... but supposedly Belichick wouldn't like the Cowboys because then he'd have Jerry Jones butting in all the time
beast (4h) : And Belichick wants an owner that will be hands off and let a head coach fully steer the boat, and supposedly Jaguars owner is hands off
beast (4h) : Jaguars job because it's the closest job that might be available near his house in Jupiter Florida. And Belichick wants an owner that....
Zero2Cool (4h) : No reason to want Jaguars job, or Rodgers.
Zero2Cool (4h) : Doubs still in protocol
Mucky Tundra (8h) : That's an...interesting rumor
beast (8h) : Rumor, Bill Belichick is eyeing both the Jaguars and Aaron Rodgers for 2025... who knows if he'll be able to get either
beast (10h) : Based on numbers, Broncos and Browns had a wild one

Mucky Tundra (22h) : hey where's the game day thread for the Lions?
Mucky Tundra (22h) : Should we though?
Zero2Cool (22h) : Edgerrin Cooper, Corey Ballentine and Elgton Jenkins miss Monday practice
Zero2Cool (2-Dec) : We should talk Fantasy Football.
Zero2Cool (2-Dec) : No.

packerfanoutwest (2-Dec) : Rodgers needs to retire tomorrow
Mucky Tundra (2-Dec) : And you're still winning easily because I started all the wrong guys
buckeyepackfan (1-Dec) : MVS another td catch for The Saints
buckeyepackfan (1-Dec) : Tucker killing me in our FFL 2 missed Fg's 1 missed pat. lol
Zero2Cool (1-Dec) : Kickin ain't easy.
beast (1-Dec) : Anders Carlson hasn't missed a FG since Packers released him, including 50+ yarders... but has missed a couple of extra points
Mucky Tundra (1-Dec) : Justin Tucker with a missed PAT, what's going on with him this year?
Mucky Tundra (1-Dec) : That and just missing some games that were toss ups based on the Vegas line
Mucky Tundra (1-Dec) : Regarding pfow and Pick'em, I think he leaned too hard on "Everyone is picking Team A so I'll pick Team B"
beast (1-Dec) : I think Packers 1st playoff game might be Packers @ Seahawks, which we'll have in the regular season in two weeks
beast (1-Dec) : Yeah, Cardinals got me all excited for nothing... they choked. As of right now, we might get a playoff preview in 2 weeks
beast (1-Dec) : Did packerfanoutwest self-sabotage his pick'em? Doing so well, then this week
beast (1-Dec) : Did packerfanoutwest self-sabotage his pick'em? Doing so well, then this week

Zero2Cool (29-Nov) : Frigging host issues for site again
