Even tho I love Jennings I don't want him in GB next year. I'll explain why!

1- His 29 years old and past two season his been plagued with injuries. Not worth paying big bucks to have him on the side line.

2- As someone else stated Jennings won't be as good as WR if it wasn't Aaron Rodgers throwing to him.

3- We've got very deep WR corp even if we lose Jennings we've got Nelson / Jones / Cobb that can all be starters

4- Rather keep that big $$$ and pay out for our future FA's that will be more important to keep the Jennings right now (Matthews / Raji / Finley / Aaron Rodgers will be looking for a raise sooner or later etc...

5- Will gives us an opportunity to at least keep Finley for one more year to see what he brings, still got some confidence in him

We need to look at the bigger picture here, so does Greg Jennings. If he gets a home discount deal and sticks around for a good salary that I'm all for him to be coming back if not then forget it. Deals like this are what can make or brake your franchise.

Any trade potential here, rather than letting him walk in free agency? If Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy both go public saying that they'd prefer for him to stay in Green Bay, maybe we could get someone to offer a starting-caliber running back or left tackle(?)

Oh, and Finley? Pfft. Goodbye. I don't see ANY chance of him returning.

Let's just appreciate that he was a huge part of our 4th Super Bowl championship, wish him well, and send him down the road. We have more important contracts to deal with and Jennings knows that. I didn't appreciate the Cullen Jenkins/Wells shot he gave.

And 69 - I'm not sure I agree with you on Finley. I was hoping Williams would have stepped up this year, but he hasn't - and Quarless is a better blocker but far inferior to Finley as a receiving threat.

I'd love to keep Grog. I don't understand why everyone says he is not a number 1 WR. I'm assuming everyone's list of number 1 receivers consists of Andre Johnson, Larry Fitz, AJ Green, Megatron, maybe Bmarsh and then basically no one else?

So there's what, 5 number 1 WR's in the league? That's some pretty strict criteria, folks.

I was under the understanding that cutting Finley's 7 mill off the books next year we'd be ok resigning Grog, or at least franchising him for a year?

This would be for another thread but I am not ok with giving Raji a huge contract.

To me this leaves (at best) an either/or scenario with Finley and Greg. The team would be paying Finley roughly 8 next year, the franchise is 9.5 for Greg, so the difference is (relatively) minimal.

I've heard Greg is hoping for 16/yr, in which case there is no way in hell the Pack can sign him. If he's willing to come down towards 9ish range, I think it at least opens the door for an either/or option with Finley.

The most I have heard in regards to what Greg Jennings is desiring is just over $10 million a year. I don't think even Calvin Johnson is making $16 million a year with his insane but deserved contract. And Jennings is no Johnson and more importantly to contract negotiations, Jennings know this.

Anyhow, Greg Jennings has several times said he likes Green Bay (before his contract stuff came up) and one thing he really likes is the proximity to his hometown. Teams closer to his hometown will have a better chance.

Zero2Cool (13m) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (2h) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (4h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (20h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (21h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
