I hate injurys more than anyone, and Saine looked promising. But it could be worse. We should give Starks a chance as a 3rd down or sub back.

I think with this injury we'll see John Kuhn at Running back again. Which will help us on 3rd and short. In which we had some trouble coverting them this year.

edit: I think it's awesome that we keep getting guys with long hair and or dreads!šŸ˜

Hmm...:-k

I thought all our RBs were short yardage backs. We got Cedric Benson who gets 3.5 ypc, A Green who gets 3.8, Kuhn who gets 2.9, and Starks who gets 2.2.

That's pretty good for short-yardage. [sarcasm]

I'm just afraid that if Starks starts getting 10+ carries a game, he's going to get dinged up again. Yes, Green and white with Kuhn on third downs isn't the end of the world, but I sure miss Benson. Certainly glad that Green has exceeded my expectations, though.

If Starks can't handle 10+ carries a game we might as well find out now so he can be replaced. I think Green could do some damage if they could get him past the line of scrimmage. He showed some ability to make people miss along with some power.

Benson and Starks are physical runners who pound their way and grind it out... Green and Grant are the quick/speed backs that can try to grind but nether really have great power but can burn you if you give them too much room to work with.
