We got the call we all dread in our lives, but we expected this. Mom passed away Thursday evening just two minutes after the Packers-Bears kick-off. Im' glad I got back to Milwaukee in August to see her, even though she probably did not recognize me.

She made it to age 94, and if I can get that far I'll be very happy, but probably won't know it. My brother is having a small service at St. John's on the Lake next weekend, more to thank the staff than anything else. We will all probably go back this summer and have a family reunion with the cousins. Now that all our parents are gone we can REALLY speak what's on our minds....in between some beer and brats.

BTW....as harsh as it sounds...I did watch the game. What else could I do? I'm 1650 miles away and she was probably up there telling Jarrett Bush to get off his ass and cover his man. That would be just like her.

I haven't hard to go through this yet, so I have no way to even relate to the heavy heart.

My families condolences are with you and yours today.

Well Bob, first of all my deepest condolences to you and all your family.
No matter what the age, you will always be her son and she will always be your mother and that is something very special indeed.

As to watching the game, well my thought is that it is what you did and how you respected your mother while she was alive that counts.
You honored her by becoming a fine and good man.

By all that I have observed of you over the years Bob, your Mother did one heck of job raising an outstanding son and that in my opinion reflects what a good woman that she was.

My prayers to you and all your family and may your mother find comfort in the arms of God.

Bob, very sorry for your loss. I'm very glad she was on this earth for 94 years and I bet she made the most out of every single one of them. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Bob, I deeply empathize with you, fine sir. She's made it quite the journey, 94 years isn't a small feat. Celebrate her life, my friend.

Bob,

My condolences.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and yours.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We certainly appreciate them. Jeez Vikesrule, you make me out to sound like I'm ready for Sainthood. NOT ACCORDING TO MY MOM AND SISTER!!!

More pranks and stupid happenings in and around Whitefish Bay were blamed on me than you can count. And, most wrongfully so. The day after my HS graduation the principal asked my Mother if anymore Friauf's were coming his way. If so, he was retiring. See, I set up my sister and brother. They couldn't breath wrong at school or they were in trouble. Ah, fun being the oldest.

I actually thought I heard Mom yell out at James Jones broken route on the interception. "You dumb-ass...don't go behind the damn defender...come back to the ball." Even in her late years she was a Packer fan/critic extrordanaire.

I talked with my brother about an hour ago and he has the enviable task of not only being the executor, but the clean-up/trash man. Fits him perfectly. Cheesey...I gave my brother your address, so be watching for about 12-14 boxes from Fed-Ex. 13 of them are worthless shit, and one has a fine set of faux crystal ware and malamac dinner ware. Can't beat that.

What a great gift your mom gave you. I cannot even imagine it, except for the great gifts you give us. I am sorry that your mom has passed. and the depths of a life that created such a creative person such as yourself must have been extraordinary.

I lost my mom when I was 6. I often wonder what I would be like as a human being had she lived.

I don't know what that would feel like to lose a mom after all that time. I do know that she died proud of her son. I've seen her work.
