I'm gonna hear a bunch of Niner fans complaining about Alex Smith tonight. Gonna love every minute of it. Fair weather morons.

I didn't think the Packers defense could possibly be worse than the 2011 version but they have outdone themselves.
A.J.Hawk would have to be considered defensive player of the game. Who woulda thunk it.
Perry and Worthy are invisible.
Not a good start.

Oh yeah just to be fair, the offense took up where they left off in the 2011 playoffs.

Thoughts.

1. We are getting beat right now by a better overall team. They can run, pass, stop the run and contain the pass. We simply cannot, to be fair though, the defense has been on the field a ton today, they played decent early in the game through about 1 and half quarters.

2. I like that we are running more, however we just aren't getting it done effectively now. Most of that from my seat is the defense.

3. If we cannot sling the rock, we are in trouble. Just as we seen late last season, at least they are trying to rectify that.

4. Our secondary, still has work to do in communication.. the first touchdown was an illustration switch off was missed, the other safety appears to missed a slide in protection. Recurring problem today.

5. Did I say we are getting beat by a more complete team.. that is my opinion right now. We have work to do.

I think the defense at least has shown life today and I think minus some of the miscues/coverage breakdowns played decently. Just a combination of mistakes, our offenses inability to control the ball at any lengths, and a very balanced 49er offense is wearing them down.

The 49ers offense is to me, about the perfect offense. Controls the clock, can run, can pass effectively.. we are just flat out getting beat today.

I can deal with getting beat.. it happens.

Positives.

1. I like the way they are using Cobb.. a space weapon we have been missing.

2. Offensive line has played decently... for as one dimensional as we have been again, they have held up pretty good.

3. Up front, we can see some life of getting a pass rush from both sides.. but Perry in space has been a liability. And he is wearing down.

4. The rotation on the defensive line is improved.. just cannot be expected to be on the field this much in a game and hold up all game long.

Defense played well enough to win. The INT cost us the game.

Not to say the defense can't improve of course.

Special teams showed up.

Randall Cobb did show up today. I wonder if he can play defense.

This team is routinely underwhelming. We saw more of that today.

As underwhelming as they were, I thought it was AMAZING we got even close in this game. If it wasn't for that INT, we would have won this game.

That tells me there's still hope for the season.

The Packers got their asses thoroughly kicked today, and the defense looked just as putrid as last year. However, we've seen the last 2 super bowl champs pull jeckel and hyde acts en route to the title.
