I know the reason he dropped to the 7th. Point is he was still there. What has he done between April and August that suddenly makes all the other teams want him so badly? Every single one of them could have had him in the 6th and passed on him.

Truth is an injury to one of their other linemen may be more of a factor in signing him than what he has done himself.

Oh, just so people get the proper credit, I didn't post anything. That was Buckeye. I just opened up the Word doc and put it into a Java code block so nobody has to download Buckeye's list in order to read it. Not everyone has Word, including me, but we have a Mac viewer that can read Word docs.

I did this Friday.. but how I viewed the roster on Friday.

I only have 52 spots penciled in.. with a couple on the PUP.. I put Bishop on IR already. I think the most logical spot for him.. to bad the PA is holding up the flex IR spot.. he might be one to benefit from that.

R is a roster spot.. PUP is PUP.. IR is IR. Detail attached.. best to view in separate tab.

You have 52, this is what I would change in mind.

I would of cut Coleman and risk getting him to the practice squad. 51 on the main roster now.

I haven't notice anything from Wynn for me to want to keep him around, I'd cut him... heck I want to tell him to lose weight and try out for OLB next year. (I was saying the same thing for Jason Hunter who played decent at 3-4 OLB with the Broncos for a year, before they switched back to the 4-3). 50 on the main roster now.

I also noticed a lot from Walden that I don't like, I wouldn't mind cutting him but no one has really stepped up... though I could argue Jones would be better on STs and about equally as bad at OLB. And Jones might make a better back-up at the Jack spot (Bishop's/Smith's ILB role) than Lattimore and Manning. But let just say keep two of the three following Walden, Jones and Lattimore. Still 50 on the main roster.

I'd keep Stark around, he might have to go on the IR but I have liked him a lot more than Saine and haven't seen much from Green yet and if Benson gets caught with drugs he'll be out a year... I'd keep all 4. 51 on my main roster.

Teams keep 7 OL guys on the active game day roster... one of those goes down and no one else on the roster to step up? That sounds like a lot of trouble. I could argue keeping a couple of them on PS instead, but you'd have to cut or IR someone to move one of them up... which if you have a free IR spot is fine, but if you don't it's trouble. So I'd keep another OG around, Dominguez or Wells most likely, but some decent potential in the rookie UDFAs which one or two should get a PS spot. 52 on my main roster.

The Packers have kept 6 CBs the last 2 or 3 years... and now Capers is talking about playing more dime defense... if the guys step up I think they could keep a 7th... and I think he'd be Ross. I don't think he's great but he tackles and is aggressive like Bush (which are Bush's strong points) and I think Ross could stick. Shields has disappeared... I wonder if they might put him on the IR... but anyways adding Ross would make 53 on the main roster.

Also I'd think about keeping Neal and maybe Hargrove on the reserve list... a guy on the DL might have to go to the IR and they could be there waiting to fill in the spot. But they could cut them before putting them on the main roster if the team doesn't want them then.

Do we have 3 healthy tailbacks or not.

If Benson, Green and Saine are healthy.. yes the odd man out in my list would be Starks.

Benson to me is going to provide the toughness we need between the tackle.. not going to hit a home run.. but is going to grind on Sunday.

Green gives us a dimension we didn't have last season.. a player that operates smoothly in open space.

Saine, IMO, is the "Dirty Jobs" type player.. ask him to do it.. and he is going to do it and do it well. Saine is the type of back the Patriots have had in Faulk.

Kuhn is the other physical type back that will do the dirty work.. I just don't think he is going to be healthy enough to be that physical presence all season.. hence the Benson need.

So... I go with 4 backs here.. if they are healthy.

One of the TE's can fill the blocking type role in the backfield if need be.. hence the limit on FB and an extra TE.

I would like to pencil in another WR.. but I think the Packers think they can score with anyone and shift the spare parts to defense and special teams. If I pencil in another WR.. it would be difficult not to have Boykins be that guy right now after two games.

Heavy on box players on defense... there will not be a shortage of guys to rotate in there.

Now.. Hargrove being suspended for 8 games might change the count a bit.. but I think the Packers roll the dice and keep him on the roster. Think of it as a mid season addition if we need it.

That being said.. we probably pick up at least 1 to 2 players at cut downs.. and those last 5 on the roster will come down to special teams.

Next rendition should have two categories.. locks and bubbles.. bubbles that may pop at any moment. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't know about the final 53, but IMHO the Packers are 1 injury away from disaster.
A Rodgers injury{concussion} or any injury to the OL starters is going to cost us as there is no running game to speak of.
On defense there doesn't appear to be an appreciable difference from last year as they're depending on 1st year players to contribute big time.

Thanks evryone for the feedback, I'll try to explain some of my thinking, and answer the questions posed.

First I failed to place Hargrove on my IR/PUP/SUSP list, I'm not completely sure what The Packers options are,but do know he does not have to take up a roster spot and I do believe he will end up on the 53 man roster at some point

I also have Walden on the 53 man roster, but he will be suspended the 1st game, so someone is going to get a chance to prove themselves, and it could be Walden is released.(I just think that he has shown at times the ability to put pressure on the QB and Ted and Mike want to give him another chance.

Brett Good ended up on The Def. side just to even out the columns. My original download has him, Crosby, and Masthay's names in red denoting Special team players.

My thinking with Daniels and Datko is that they can be put on the PS,not sure if Dominguez is eligible for PS, if he is then I would switch him with Datko.

Ted can protect Datko, but if another team really did want him then I agree that Datko would make roster over Dominguez.

Same with Daniels, but I really don't think another team will come after him right away.

There was a question about Gurley making the final roster, I don't think there is room for both him and Borel on the PS again this year, with only 4 TE's making the roster that opens up a spot for another WR. I picked Gurley pretty much because of his size. I believe he can be a help on Special Teams.

I know there are still 2 weeks left in the pre-season and a hundred things can change in that time, but it will be fun to come back to this in a couple of weeks just to see how I did.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!
