What was it, like 8 million dollars to police and clean up the state capitol after the anti-Walker goon patrol got done with their "protest".
And the cost of the recall......who's paying for it?
Yup, the tax payers. Another wast of OUR money.
Walker did nothing wrong to cause this recall. Hewas voted into office, and if "the people" wanted him out, they should have had to wait until the next election.
Recall elections were not meant to oust someone that was voted in by the PEOPLE just because he stepped on some union goons toes.
If that were the case, Doyle should have been kicked out for his deals he gave to the "native american" casinos.

Yeah, the whole 'recall Walker' bit I don't get. I mean, didn't he campaign on those promises?!

Yes, he did Jeremy.
He said he was going to balance the budget without raising taxes, and to get wisconsin out of debt.
To do that took some drastic moves. Moves that most politicians don't have the guts to do.

But you can't please everyone.
He did it by making government workers pay a LITTLE more of their insurance and retirement benefits.
Still not even CLOSE to what most workers have to pay.

Walker saved jobs for the government workers by doing this. That way he didn't have to lay off or fire workers to get it done.
He saved their jobs, and the thanks he gets is this stupid recall.

This recall may open Pandora's Box, especially if Barrett were to pull the upset. Wisconsin is a pretty middle of the road state. We're neither a democratic or republican stronghold. We're in the middle. If the Democrats can muster up enough signatures to recall Walker, state Republicans probably could do the same to Tom Barrett or a future Democrat Governor or Senator. Since everything is controversial in the internet age, it probably wouldn't take much to rile enough people up into signing a recall petition. This is a terrible precedent. I fear that recall elections are going to become more common, as a result.

Dang!
Porky agrees with me!?!? Talk about a real test for my heart surgery! LOL![grin1]

You are so right! What's the sense of even having elections if at the first sign of someone not liking what the elected official is doing, we try to have them kicked out?
It's different if the guy does something illegal. But for just any whim?
Plus, what is the incentive for a politician to try to change the "same old same old" government crap if they know that if they DO try to do something to change it, they will have everyone that doesn't agree with them coming after them?
Yet the ones that are doing this are the same ones that wanted "CHANGE" last presidential election.

"CHANGE!" (as long as I don't have to give up anything to accomplish it)
I've heard some people that don't like Walker even say that they are against the recall.
Big union is what's behind all this. Trying scare tactics to try to get the "average" people to vote"their" guy in.

I don't care for President Obama's political stance, but i never would say he has done anything to be kicked out of office. That's what we have elections for. To vote for your political beliefs.
Bill Clinton lied under oath, yet he wasn't kicked out of office. So what exactly has Scott Walker done, other then get Wisconsin out of debt, to be removed from office?
It doesn't make sense to me.

"Out of Debt" you think?.......guess again.

Walker has pulled the wool over your eyes by one the sleaziest tricks in the book.
Or I should say that he has done so at the behest of his controllers, the Koch brothers and Diane Hendricks.

It is called "Debt Restructuring"

The Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau reported that Walker borrowed more than $558 million over the last 16 months to "balance the budget",
and that Wisconsin taxpayers will have to pay back that $558 million, and add on an EXTRA $158 million to pay off those bills overt the next 20 years.

Instead of paying off these $558 million in bills during the 2011 and 2012 fiscal year, these bills will now be paid in future years,
and the Legislative Fiscal Bureau runs down the costs that taxpayers will now bear in future years as a result of Walker's credit card spree.

TOTAL 2011-2017 PAYMENTS- $418.843 million

2011-12- $9.824 million
2012-13- $44.913 million
2013-14- $98.431 million
2014-15- $98.426 million
2015-16- $83.630 million
2016-17- $83.619 million

You read that right, Walker's short-term cosmetic moves to make his budget seem solvent will cost taxpayers nearly $419 million over the next few budgets,
which will be money that can't go to schools, universities, social services, and numerous other General Fund programs......
.....or will result in a major tax increase to maintain these services.

It's a lot like taking on a huge credit card loan to pay off your bills right now. In the short-term it looks good, but it'll hurt you a lot more later.

Walker's moves have sent Wisconsin further into debt and with higher deficits than you ever faced under Jim Doyle.
And unlike 2008-9, it isn't happening in the middle of the biggest economic meltdown in 75 years,
but in a time when quite a few other states (but not Wisconsin) are recovering and growing jobs.

That is just one of the multitude of things that Walker has done wrong and then lied about.

He and his political fluff Lt. Governor....one Rebecca Kleefisch.
Now there is a piece of work, Rebecca Kleefisch makes Sarah Palin look semi-intelligent and Michele Bachmann almost seem sane.

And VR you didn't even mention all the lost jobs. Wisconsin is dead last in jobs creation in the country.

Wow....lots of "regurgitated" stuff straight from the Tom Barrett love fest.
Funny thing is, not ONCE has Barrett said what he will do to "fix" the so called problem.....other then pandering to the unions, like Gov. Doyle did.

And dead last in job production. Uh....let's see.....who was the Governor of Wisconsin for many years previous to Walker's last 18 MONTHS??? Yup....liberal democrat Doyle.
He taxed businesses right out of Wisconsin.
Something Walker is TRYING to turn around. But hey, shouldn't he be able to completely fix everything in 18 months?
I mean, hey, look at all Obama fixed in 4 years. Oh....sorry....bad example.
We will see tomorrow if all the special interest groups (unions) will have enough clout to screw up the state and get it back to "the same old same old" tax the hell out of us and spend more then is taken in.

Why should i even care? I have no children, so who cares if future generations of Wisconsinites have to pay for all the crap the liberals want to fill their pockets with now?

Cheesey, what I never understand about all of you non-afluent Republicans is why you would rather see the wealthy continue to line their pockets off the back of the poor man instead of helping the poor man have a better life - and yes, it really is that simple.

If the Teapeople and the occupiers realized they all come from common ground, the current people in control would have some trouble. But since both sides have a couple philosophical differences, a merger will never happen.

Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau

I could care less whether Scott Walker is Repbulican, Democrat or whatever.
What it boils down to is that Walker is scheming, conniving, lying, weasel, not fit to hold any public office.
He is Wisconsin's version of Rod Blagojevich, ya a Democrat of the same ilk.
Don't be surprised when Walker is indicted in the near future, as he has his own legal issues.

You are so blinded, that it is not worth the effort anymore.

Yep, you definitely deserve Scott Walker.
If he wins tomorrow, watch out, because you will come to deeply regret it.
