I don't think there is anything wrong with being a system QB if it is a quality system. even brett to some extent was a system QB. if the LBs and DBs do this- you do that.

I believe when one hears the term system QB they feel it as someone who does the reads and is very safe with the football with taking little to no risks. Alex Smith 2011 49ers for example. Brett Favre took a LOT of risks and a lot of unnecessary ones at that.

Brett Favre was never a system QB, not even close. Sorry, I can't even slightly agree with you on that front. If you want to say because one team has run n shoot, or west coast flavor and that was the system, sure, but every damn QB falls into that category.

I believe when one hears the term system QB they feel it as someone who does the reads and is very safe with the football with taking little to no risks. Alex Smith 2011 49ers for example. Brett Favre took a LOT of risks and a lot of unnecessary ones at that.

thank you. Mike sat on him and really tied him down as to what he wanted Brett to do. When he listened Brett excelled. When he didn't it was same ol Brett chucking the rock.
