Now I am no Twitter expert, far from it, but I believe I am following this conversation correctly.


PackerTimes asked, Sherrod, Sitton and Lang collectively: "hey guys, how is Sherrod coming along?"

Sitton then replied: "he quit. Crazy"

Someone then asked Sitton to clarify: "Wait, what?? What do you mean "he quit"???"

To which Sitton replied: "crazy story. @jasonjwilde will break news"

Yet one more reason why I think it is ridiculous that news stories actually quote Twitter feeds these days. Focus on getting the facts straight instead of being the first to break the (usually non-)story.

Yeah. By the time I gt to this thread it was over. But the twitter craze is one of the reasons I won't join or follow it.

On a board for the U of Illinois they have a thread with over 14,300 posts and 1,200,000 views that dealt with the hiring of the new mens basketball coach. A huge part of the posts were discussions of what turned out to be false information that came in large part from twitter.

If Derek Sherrod quit (which he didn't, it was a joke) no one can bitch about it unless he fully recovered. His injury may have been so severe that he had to quit.

Still, I thought it was funny and figured something was up when it was Josh Sitton breaking the 'news', lol.
