Actually, he's saying he's got another 4 or 5 yrs left. He played all 16 regular season games last year, QBing the Ravens defense that gave up only 46 40+yd receptions vs. our 71.

Don't get me wrong man, I love Gregg Jennings. Finley too. They are both awesome talents. I don't want us to be without them either, but would rather get something for one of those guys that we could literally part with now, without a ton of damage to our O, rather than get nothing a year from now, when the price is out of our reach. Can't keep them all.

I agree, the Secondary was awful in 2011, but the offense did them no favors no did the pass rush. Teams knew the Ravens weren't going to put up 30+ every game. I am not saying any of the safeties for the Packers are of Ed Reed caliber, no way.

The offense was quick strike score or three an out. Defense didn't get to rest ... so it seemed.

I still say ... get more pressure, it makes the entire defense look better. That's where I want to see improvements first before the Secondary.

Any QB will scorch any secondary with 4+ seconds.
Any Secondary will look a lot better with the QB having 3 or less seconds to throw.

I do like the idea of possibly adding Chris Hope. Haven't seen any report on this, just a player that I thing would be a good addition if Collins can't go.

Being successful this draft in adding a serious pass rush could cure nearly all of our ills, and make us legit to go for another SB win. Without success here, I honestly don't see how we can be considered legit.

It would be really great if we could come up with an OLB, AND a DE that were good pass rushers. It would give Capers so much more flexiblilty which he is could at taking advantage of. Then DBs would look much better. That said, it would also be nice if we could pick up a safety and cornerback.

Should be totally doable PackerTraxx. Especially if we can trade down in R1 and R2. Then, we'll have like, 20 picks! We could totally nail all of those positions, and more!

We should get 1 with our first pick. To get the second player we would most likely have to trade up in the 2nd. Play2, are you pissed off at the board - based on your last few comments?

Hey PackerTraxx,

No, not at all. Just having fun with all of it.

I love the draft, and the offseason acquisitions, the building of a great team. None of us really knows what is best, but we all hope it works. Whatever Ted decides to do. Can't get too serious about all this speculative stuff.

Cheers bro!

The offense didn't hurt the defense last year they were a highly efficient machine. They punted the 3rd least amount in the league and had the 2nd least amount of turnovers. They also were 5th in 1st downs and 3rd in 3rd down conversion %. On top of all of that they ran up the score which made the other team 1 dimensional (should have given a significant advantage to the defense). The defense didn't get to rest because they were absolutely horrible at stopping 3rd downs and getting themselves off the field.

More pressure is definitely the answer though. The secondary was awful on their own (even when the other QBs were throwing the ball quickly) so I won't make any excuses for them. A better pass rush would cover up any other weaknesses the defense has a lot easier than other things can cover for a weak pass rush.

We never turned the ball over. Of course, not never, but compared to other teams, very rarely. We also got tons of first downs. By all measures, our D should have been cherry. They did it to themselves. They didn't get the 3 and outs. Had they gotten the 3 and outs, we would have had a SB caliber team.
