If you consider The End by The Doors a bad song then I have zero respect for your rock'n'roll tastes.

The Doors both Rock and Suck.

These guys pretty much nail it in regards to The Doors. Read the entire article, pretty good take in my opinion.

The Doors Suck: Point / Counterpoint
Jim Morrison wrote a lot of poetry, and most of it was shitty, pretentious, regrettable, faux-intellectual diarrhea.

Reading Jim Morrison the poet is like watching a shirtless SAE pledge strumming James Blunt on his old acoustic in the university commons during spring break: totally insufferable, uninspiring, and distasteful.

The Doors Rock
The Doors nailed on their singles....

The hypnotic psychedelia of "Light My Fire," the shit-kicking backroom blues rock of "Alabama Song,"
the dirty proto-garage propulsion of "Break On Through," the doomsday rock-opera drama of "The End".
And that's just from their debut album.............
They packed more great songs onto that thing than most bands manage in a career, and they did it not by exploiting a single strength, but by experimenting with different, nascent sounds and blowing the top off them.

The Doors Suck
The Doors represent the worst urges of the 1960s. Nearly fifty years after the release of their self-titled debut album, they remain one of the most over-romanticized and over-mythologized bands of that decade, thanks to innumerable books, reissues, and films like Oliver Stone’s (actually not that bad) biopic and Tom DiCillo’s frankly ridiculous documentary. Even more than The Beatles or The Stones, the Doors are popular because their edginess is easy to read, digest, and comprehend, even though they nod to depth without being deep and sing about breaking through without actually breaking through............

There are so many bands from the 1960s that are more deserving of awe and attention: Arthur Lee, the charismatic black frontman of Love, was visiting the decade’s dark side when Morrison was still wearing tighty-whiteys under his leather pants, and the 13th Floor Elevators really did break on through to the other side and found nothing but the Man waiting for them. Their story is a tragedy; The Doors’ more like a parody. Instead of being truly confrontational and transgressive, they sound mediocre and undistinguished from their contemporaries — in other words, safe. Is there anything worse you could say about a rock band?

Along the same lines from that era (plus you guys can actually see a "turntable and a record") and check out the "hi-fi" sound.....
This song made me ill, even back then...

I hate her melodrama, but there is no way on earth a fair person could put Celine Deion's "My heart will go on" onto any 50 worst list.

She drives me (and most) in a weirdly negative way, but the lady can plain flat sing that song. As was mentioned, this would be a classic case of "over-played" vs. ""bad", but I just found this particular rendition that is a prime example of the "over-drama", yet... when she hits those notes, I sadly admit I still dig it, big-time. I'm a big sucker for talent, and she has it, big-time.

What a bitter cynic you have to be if you actually HATE Kokomo...

Party All The Time is hilariously bad. Deserved a higher ranking than that. And I'm missing our good friend Rick Astley. Never Gonna Give You Up seems to fit in with the rest of the songs on this list so well.

I'll Be There for You isn't that bad, either. It's just that the twenty million times everyone heared it on Friends that has made it nearly unbearable to listen to.

Oh, and you don't hate Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.

Morrison and Cobain were on the downward of their careers. Their deaths were a huge blessing for their record companies as it didn't allow them to fall into obscurity.

There are a few songs on that list from that era, but I would not say that they are all bad.

However, I totally agree with you on the Disco shit...If you were lucky, and young enough, you did not have to listen to that crap.

So, KanataThrilla, just for you.......... [grin1]

"Ooh, I like the Beatles." "Ooh, I like the [insert group/artist]" I never understood that. I like the OUTPUT, on a case-by-case basis.

These are called friggin' "songs".

The rest is complete bullshit.

imo, based on a lifetime of listening to the bullshit.
