I like how everyone is blowing this off as impossible, I actually believe the Bears will have the most balanced offense in our division by far, noone will come close to them. Also how can you guys not be worried about this pickup or is it we are the Packers so everyone else sucks and can't beat us. The Bears were in the NFC Championship 2 years ago with no wrs and now they add an ALL Pro but they will suck?

Oh that's right we have an awesome secondary that no one can throw on us. I'm not saying we won't make the playoffs but I am saying I can see the Bears once again winning the division. People are saying the O-line is bad for the Bears, look in the mirror folks we have no center and basically no right tackle.

All I can say is if I was a Bears fan I would be excited about next season.

Ok I know people will say here he goes hating on the Packers but I don't see another 15-1 season for us that's for sure unless Ted Thompson does something to help this team but I see a repeat of his work in Seattle.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I'm fine with the Bears winning the division after what happened the last time they won it.

BTW love how you went way out on a limb saying the Packers won't go 15 - 1 this season.

da Bears won't have the best offense. I'm fine with them having the most balanced offense because we all know how I feel about balance. I like to win, and while da Bears may have a balanced offense, we're built to win games.

The strength of da Bears is their D. Still. Now yes, they got a real WR. Mike Martz is gone so Cutler won't die again in 2012. I'm hoping he plays all 16 games as I'd rather have a challenge than an easy ride. The last thing I want is to have 3 Minnesota Vikings in our division.

Cutler is a Very Good QB. He's not Elite. Forte is a Pro Bowler as he should be. He's like Marshall Faulk-lite. I like Forte a lot. But that OL is still bad and that hasn't changed and until it changes, I'm not putting my money on da Bears winning it all.

Let's not forget that the heart of da Bears' D is getting older, not younger. Aging is unfair and cruel. The big 3 on da Bears' D all made the Pro Bowl last year but I don't expect them all this year. I think only Tillman is under 31.

Now will da Bears be over 500? Yes. We'll have 3 teams in our division over 500.

I have to ask what makes a #1 offense? Will the Bears have more total yards than the Packers and Lions? I say yes because Forte will be over 1000 yards rushing and Cutler if he stays healthy will get his 4000 yards. I guess the offense all depends on Cutlers health.

Also, a lot of yards are accumulated when a team is behind and trying to catch up. If you can't make it into the end zone, yards mean nothing.

Forte is awesome. We agree on this. I'm also one of the few people on this board who constantly defends Cutler as one of the better, and yes, tougher QBs. The guy's constantly taking hits and constantly doing his job. I'm convinced the reason people hate Cutler is because he's ugly. I'm serious when I say this. He's a damn good QB. I wouldn't put him in the elite category; more along the lines of an Eli Manning (but the latter is on a better team and it's a team game, not a QB game).

But that OL is bad. I cringe when Cutler takes his hits.

9'ers just signed Manningham. If they get Manning back at anywhere close to where he was before the neck injury they will definitely be one of the scariest offenses in a long time. Gore, Davis, Crabtree, Manningham, Moss(haha sorry couldn't resist). NFC is looking strong for next year.

The top 18 offensive performances in the league last year by passing yards only won 33.3% of the time. That is all the 400+ yard games last year.

The top 25% of performances ranked by passer rating last year won 97% of the time. They were 57-1.

Cutler is a career 84.5 rated passer. Which is pretty much average.

When he had Marshall in Denver, he was mediocre. That is not suddenly going to change.

So of the 16 games left, only 4 were wins. 25% winning percentage for a team putting up 400+ yards in which the opponent didn't put up even more yards.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
