Wait, are you JUST SAYING ... it is what it is? What the fuck is next, you gonna announce the sky is blue and grass is green and water feels wet and circles are round? [duh]

I swear, we aim to be redundantly idiotic with the things that come out of our mouths. No wonder the Aliens come here, do dances in our crops and get the hell outta here before anyone gets a good view of them! [grin1]

I think it's as little more predictable than that. If it's a team the Packers really should destroy -- if it's a team most other opponents have destroyed convincingly -- the Packers will probably let them hang around most of the game. They have an odd tendency to beat their better opponents, though.

This team can (and does) shit itself at any time in any venue. That's the problem, imo.

The defense was what it was this year. But they were pretty consistent. The defense will get fixed, but the psychology of this team will continue to be a problem.

William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

D wins championships, with notable exceptions. Fix the D, and we're right back in the hunt in 2012.

As myself and many others have said, it matters most who's the best finishing the season, than any rankings. We've seen that the last two years now. Although, the Packers did have the 2nd ranked POINTS AGAINST ranking. That's not defensive rank because it includes ALL scoring, even if Special Teams scores or Offense gives up a fumble for TD or pick six... so really, the #2 ranking could be higher??

The Giants, had they been healthy the entire year, would have been top 5. Easily.

Yes, I know it includes ALL scoring but ST scoring and offenses giving up fumbles for TDs or pick sixes area are a wash because with all teams, there really isn't that much of a significant difference in the numbers.

Now, your site's search mechanism sucks. If I can find the thread, I'd bump it. But I'm at work and I'm pretty busy and don't have time to look for it.

But like I said, the list showed that the vast majority of SB winners had a top 6 D. I compiled this list after losing an argument with RaiderPride about Ds winning championships. Remember all that?

Unlike a lot of people, I can admit when I'm wrong.

Maybe the Packers should only play the Seahawks at home in the playoffs??

You now claim the points against is a wash for all teams. I'm not necessarily saying that's wrong, but would you provide the source that supports that? Let me use the search to see what happened the last time you sourced something - link . Search works fine, go fuck yourself!! [grin1]

Points Against, is just that, the overall points the TEAM gave up, not a ranking for defense. Again, I would side with your position that if JUST defensive points given up were tallied, we wouldn't see much difference in the points against rankings vs defensive points given up rankings.

Trying to equal your long winded response ... I'm with you that the less points you give up, the more your odds increase to win the 7lb shiny trophy.

Okay, long winded response is just going to get submitted now.

I said it before the loss and I will say it again. The Hudson Center is a contributing factor. You can't simple open the doors and let the wind blow through or stick the footballs in the freezer to get the feel for what it is going to be like come game day.
The Nitschke practice field has the same turf as Lambeau. Get on it and run your plays every day. As some one mentioned the football is going to feel differently in the colder weather they need to be prepared for it.
Hudson opened in 94. They were still winning playoff games in the 90's because Holmgren took then outside for several practices a week even after the facility was built.
Now there practices have turned them into little more than a domed team.

Zero2Cool (15h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (16h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
