Really????????
I don't remember Favre making tackles on special teams, or defending a pass at the end of any games last year.
I guess Favre was the reason our special teams and defense were so much better last year.
Yeah.....that MUST be it.
Don't let any factual information ruin your rant.

posted this in another thread, makes sense to have it here too...

But it really shouldnt be posted in2 different areas to make a point

lets go back to last year.......

Philly game, that wasnt Brett...... it was the D

San Diego, yes the Jennings td.....but that was the 2nd pass of that drive and if you ask me that was more jennings......then the D got an int and 2 runs later Bjax gets a td.....So did Brett really put him on his back and led them??? not really......

Denver that was all Brett, but people forget we got ball 1st in ot...

Aaron Rodgers this year in the close games that people think he should have carried the team..

Tenn, he didnt get a chance to drive the field in over time ( lost coin toss) where as last year Packers won coin toss at Denver...How ever, he didnt play his best game that day

Atlanta, the last time Pack had the ball they ran 8 plays, and he passed on everyone...went 7-8 and got a TD

Minn-- he got them to FG range...Not his fault kicker missed it

Yeah, hey???
Some things never change.
How about the way Favre carried the team a few years ago when they went 4-12? How come we don't hear about that?
Or the fact that we never even sniffed a SB since 1998?
I know....that would ruin his rant of how Favre carried the team.
So we'll just ignore all thos nasty facts.

Favre really bolstered the pass rush last year. and he was a force to be reckoned with, the way he plugged up the middle along the d-line. And, man, can he punt! and he is always the best coverage guy on kick and punt return. those are the things i miss most about brett favre.

I miss the fact that he could do anything he wanted to do in the field of play and it was legal.

Aww shucks look at Brett Favre out there acting like a kid on the playground.

My favorite line from MNF last year:
"Brett Favre. A man who is thirty-eight and acts as if he were eight!"

Do you recognize Favre as the goat in the NFC championship team as well?

I'm sick to death of both sides on this one.

First of all, the decision was made, get over it and move on.

Second, it's not one or the other. It's both.

Favre carried the offense the first half of last season, when we were getting less than 50 yds per game rushing. We got to a 7-1 record because of Favre's arm. Against SD week 3, our high rusher had 22 yds, and Brett threw for 369 to beat the Chargers 31-24. Week 4, against Minn, our top rusher had 20 yds(!) and Brett threw for 344 to beat the Vikings 23-16. It's also not a coincidence that the Jets were 4-12 last year and are 8-4 this year. Without Favre, they wouldn't be anywhere near as good as they are now.

And yes, Favre threw the interception in the playoffs that cost the Packers a trip to the Superbowl.

You know, nobody's perfect. To expect perfection from Favre is just as unrealistic an expectation as expecting Rodgers to be Favre in his first year leading the team. The man took us to 2 Superbowls and 1 step away from a 3rd. That's the only time we've even gotten close in the last 40 years (40 years!!!) and he managed to help us beat New England in the one we won.

That said, Rodgers isn't the reason that we're losing. He's had a MUCH better year than I expected, given all of the pressure he faced not only following Favre, but placed in the no-win situation where the GM picked him over Favre. And to play like he has after separating his shoulder won me over.

Favre may have won some of those games we lost and he may also have lost some of those games we won, but he didn't. He's not a Packer, he's a Jet now (Gawd, I hate saying that. That is wrong on so many levels). Hopefully, he'll retire a Packer. But the discussion here has helped in one regard--it's helped me to do what I recommend for all: GET OVER IT. It's done.

beast (5h) : Guys that have a good shot at making the NFL Hall of Fame usually get into their teams pretty fast
beast (5h) : Yeah, but is Kampman and the others in the NFL Hall of Fame?
Zero2Cool (5h) : Johnson was Hall of Fame, 2020. Should haev been in Ring a year later, not three years.
Zero2Cool (5h) : I could be wrong there though

beast (7h) : I missed it, sorry, but he got into the NFL Hall of Fame years before that
Zero2Cool (7h) : Jones took his sweet ole time!
Zero2Cool (7h) : Yeah, he's in the ring of honor, just saw video and his name is up there
Zero2Cool (7h) : Didn't they have a thing in 2023 for Jimmy's ring of honor? I swear I saw it
beast (7h) : Though if they're legitimately trying to re-sign MM, then it makes sense.
beast (7h) : Jerry Jones still hasn't put Jimmy Johnson in the Ring of Honor, but he's in the NFL's Hall of Fame, Jones is petty
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Unless the Cowboys are planning an extension, seems kinda petty
beast (21h) : Cowboys denied Bears request
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : From what I'm reading, MM is under contract through the 14th of January; after that he's free game
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : McCarthy let go or not extended??

Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : what the hell was that Goff?! Not much pressure and he just air mails it to Harrison
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : They really need to to get rid of the auto first down for illegal contact
Martha Careful (6-Jan) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Even when GB got pressure he was throwing darts; vs no pressure on that last pass he just air mails an open guy

Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Where was this Darnold vs GB?
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : BALL DON'T LIE
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : how was that not a safety? Goff throws it at an offensive lineman
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Zero, I thought that was a given! ;)
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Zero I looked through earlier and noticed the same thing. Bonkers year. I just wonder if beast put any money on games
