The Packers did awes....oh...

I had to endure another six hour drive to Michigan a few hours before the game. While driving, I thought Patriots 38, Giants 26. I didn't really want to see the Giants win, but then again didn't care to see the Patriots win either.

I will say I didn't much care for seeing Aaron Rodgers, Charles Woodson and any other Packers player pumping up the Super Bowl. They are far better men than I. I'd be too pissed off to accept any invite. The last place in world I'd want to be is there watching a team that knocked the team I play for out of the playoffs.

I only got to see the last 5 or so minutes of game time. Looked like a decent game, but the first two drops of the Patriots with less than a minute left ... I was like "hey, is that Jermichael Finley and James Jones?". I know, that's not right, but ...

Edit, oh the Giants have replaced the Cowboys on my hated list. That has nothing to do with the Super Bowl, but rather the Divisional round beating they gave the Packers. I still hate the Cowboys, but they are 4th behind the Giants now.

LOL!
Yup....i was thinking the same thing. I just can't help but wonder how 'we" would have done against the Pats.
I watched some of the game, but i didn't really care who won.

The Giants become the first 9-7 team ever to win the Super Bowl. If I am not mistaken, they are also the first team ever to win the Super Bowl with a defense ranked worse than 25th by yards. Eli Manning set more records for postseason 4th-quarter comeback wins.

I was pretty confident the Giants were going to win after they hit Tom Brady on that one sack. He never looked like his head was in the game after that. His body language was atrocious. By the fourth quarter, he was ducking from threats that weren't even there. On the final sack, he had lowered his head and surrendered before the Giants even got there. It was so cool to see a team get Tom Brady off his heels and onto his toes. It was wonderful to see Tom Brady having to bend his knees for once. Get in his head and he's not as omnipotent as people think he is.

Sadly, I don't think the Packers' finesse defense could have beat the Patriots today. They would have conceded all the short and intermediate routes, holding back in coverage in the vain hope of preventing the big play. The Patriots' offensive line actually did pretty well today; time after time, they simply pushed the Giants defensive linemen away from Brady. The Packers would have had no chance to put Brady on the ground and disillusion him like that. Maybe next year, with the addition of some real beef, they'll have a chance. The Giants defense of the playoffs was not the Giants defense of the early regular season.

It was bittersweet to see the Giants win, but at least the team I was rooting for pulled it off.

Congratulations to the 2011 Giants, Super Bowl XLVI champions. They deserved it.

If the Packers played mistake free ball, they'd have torched the Patriots. What I heard on the radio, Tom Brady wasn't harassed all that much.

I was pulling for the Patriots to win.

Super Bowl XLVII is in New Orleans. Packers vs Patriots "II", battle of the last two Super Bowl winners. One from the AFC, one from the NFC. I thought that would have been neat-o!

Just goes to show you.
A "great" regular season means nothing.
Last year, the Packers got hot at the right time, this year it was the Giants.
Get into the playoffs, and anything can happen.

One big thing i noticed, which made me appreciate Aaron Rodgers even more, was how dead in the pocket Tom Brady is. So many times he could have run for yards, but just stood around if no one was open. AR would have run and made some plays with his legs.

I want them to win another Super Bowl, even if it's 12 - 4 or 10 - 6 or whatever. I'm not a Vikings fan, I don't give a drat about being the best team up to Week 17. I want the Packers to be the best team after the Super Bowl has concluded.

If the Packers go 3 - 1 in the first four games next season, they will go all the way.

I was disappointed that the Giants won. Like Zero the Giants have replaced the Cowboys on my most-hated teams list. I really can't stand that they beat the Packers at home in the playoffs in 2 different years when the Packers were clearly the better team. As much as I dislike the Patriots I wanted to see them win. I can't stand the Giants and that puss-face Manning.

By the way, did anyone else notice that Belichick took a page out of Holmgren's book by letting the Giants score? Unfortunately it yielded the same result (a loss).
