Say a quarter of that would watch their team play every weekend via stream. NFL could charge $4.99 a game, or a discounted $60 for the whole season. I think that would be a helluva profit for the NFL, plus ... PLUS you get a different brand of commercials to market to potential marketers. You could track viewership by region, etc much more accurately than the TV Nielsen (sp) guestimation.

25% of 2,100,000 = 525,000 viewers
12 games per week = 6,300,000 total viewers a weekend
@$4.99 per game = $31,437,000 a week!!

Maybe 525,000 viewers a week per game is not realistic? I went with 12 games a weekend, because there's two network televised games, the NFL network game, plus a chance your team is playing locally.

I seriously, SERIOUSLY wish I had a partner who owned a streaming company because I could go on an on and sell this idea to the NFL within 15 minutes. I mean, my head is exploding with $$$ potential here for the NFL that would ultimately expand the viewership worldwide and make fans tremendously happy!

The only loser ... DirecTV and honestly, fuck them!

I'm pretty sure that they have thought of this, but find their television contracts to be more lucrative. The NFL does seem to be behind the times on this.

You're most surely right. But I have an easy answer for that one! You make the streaming available to fans who's team is out of their market region! That doesn't effect the TV viewership much...ahem DirecTV.

I find paying for commercials morally objectionable.

If they want to put commercials in, fine.

If they want to sell subscriptions, fine.

I just don't want to pay to watch commercials.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

"King also noted YouTube TV could provide a "single-team option" for fans, providing an opportunity to see only one team's out-of-market games while paying a cheaper cost. The only choice in the current system provides all out-of-market Sunday afternoon games and NFL RedZone for a fixed rate."

buckeyepackfan (16h) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.
buckeyepackfan (16h) : Turnovers rule, win the turnover battle, win the game.
packerfanoutwest (16h) : well, he was
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : Eagles down by contact on the fumble....fuck you NFL

packerfanoutwest (21h) : As of today, Cowboys have longest NFC Championship drought,

dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.

Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.

Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
