I thought this was about Aaron Rodgers? Is that so hard to adhere to? Where the adults?

Anyhooters, hasn't Rodgers let the team to come back drives only to see his defense give it away? Hasn't Rodgers led the Packers into FG range and then got to watch his FG kicker miss?

There's two sides to a coin.

"It" is an intangible, so I can argue it.

This kid has it. He hasn't proven it.

Our record doesn't reflect it.

It's an elusive quality to have and define it.

I, personally, have brass tacts, so feel well-qualified to express my feelings on it. (Sorry Pack- not making of-having fun with)

He throws it up sometimes when he shouldn't, to places he shouldn't...we should all be quite used to that, hardened, even to it.

This kid gets time...he will SMOKE a d... I see it.

Hell, he does it without time.

Someone mentioned that he is a Tedford product. If that's what a Tedford product looks like, kindly go into wikipedia and change the definition from an insult to a compliment about it.

We have approximately 45 arguments that need to occur before we delve too deeply into this one, priority-wise... I say this because his "it" or lack of one isn't it... and that is it.

I still say he has it, and I am damn thankful for it.

I must say, most of the arguments for it and against it have been excellent.

That's it.

I thought his main error yesterday in the final 1:30 was trying to go for the big play too much. With that much time and 2 TO's, you can take what the defense gives you for a while and work your way down the field. Easier said than done obviously. The over-aggressiveness sort of reminded me of another QB we used to have 'round these parts.

"pack93z" wrote:

Exactly.. he reminded me of Brett yesterday in that situation.. pushing to hard to make the "big" play instead of just making plays and marching it down the field.. he had enough time to drive it, it would have been difficult but just the same possible.. he tried to end it with one throw ala Brett and made the sealing error. IMO.

If he would have made this play everyone would have been clamoring him as a hero. Saying he finally had his comeback game, etc. He's made a LOT of throws like this this season, and many of them have been right on the money. I like his confidence and the fact that he isn't afraid to go out and make a play. Something i felt was a weakness earlier in the season. Now i'm not saying i thought it was a good desicion, but you could say that about more than a few of his long passes this season, they have been into VERY tight coverage and have relied on an amazing play by the WR to make. And really i would take those odds any day of the week with driver and jennings. It was a heartbreaking play, and loss. But i like that he had the guts to put it all on the line.

I think its obvious that the blame falls on the ST and D play at the end of the game, moreso than rodgers.

Well, first of all many here seem to be forgetting the guy led the team down to the one yard line Sunday and the resulting field goal vs. a TD there certainly can't be placed on HIM.

In two other games he did his part and the defense let us down and on another he again moved the team and Crosby missed the FG.

I see one time where he threw a bad pass late and that was against Atlanta.

As far as Sunday with a minute and a half to go and starting on your own 16 or 17 yard line I very rarely see a QB lead a team from that spot especially when we are talking about needing a touchdown. Given two and a half or three minutes and it's a different story but I can recall many GB quarterbacks who threw way more INT's or ran out of downs than made comebacks in this situation.

If all we needed was a FG I can tell you he doesn't make that throw which goes BACK to the previous drive when he led them to the one yard line. The kid played his brains out in that second half and if others on the team played half as well this would have been a blow out.

So while you guys wait for the miracle comeback that for whatever reason you seem to need I'll be waiting for the rest of the team to do their dang job at the end of games when it counts.

He is a first year starter, top ten rated QB. Next year we will see as much or more from him and hopefully the injuries won't pile up like they did this season.

If we're truly talking brass tacks here, this team needs a much better D-coordinator and some serious help with special teams.

QB is not the problem here.

I hope everyone reads this post : Rodgers did it against the panthers brought us back in the game, not only that but gave us the lead ... defense let it down ...

Even if rodgers had drove back down last drive scored a td ... knowing our defense they would of just chocked and let steve smith catch a long ball probably even for a td on 1 play just like it happened with those 2 plays ... 2nd half 2 plays by carolina and both times they were at our 1 ...

No matter what the defense / special teams let us down

Maybe I can't make a clear point..

Last year we won several games with the game in the balance at the end.. there were games were the defense gave up a late score and we managed to come back in the waning moments and win the game. Period.

Rodgers is a hell of a QB.. farther along than I dreamed he would be.. but at this moment, he hasn't won it in the clutch.. he has had the ball with chances and hasn't pulled the rabbit yet.

The loss isn't on him.. that is crystal clear as well.. but what I am saying is this is about the same team we had last year we just haven't closed out game with a W yet collectively.. and Rodgers and the offense is part of that collection. Period.

Again.. it really isn't a complaint as much as a observation at this point..

On Sunday, IMO, with a 1 minute and change.. you work the underneath stuff unless there is a breakdown in coverage and put yourself in a position to make a play at the end.. but regardless..

Again.. I don't pin the loss on Rodgers.. he played well and with heart.. he just hasn't shown that end of game magic to this point.

Is that really so hard to accept.. it is reality to this point.

The signs look good.. but so have they for a decade for one Donovan McNabb.. that is a classic great QB that can't get it done in the clutch.. he doesn't have "it".

Again.. it is to this point.. nothing more, the sample is to small to say he does or doesn't have it..

I just don't want the Packers to have a McNabb that is a show pony for the most part.. but spits the bit in the crunch.

Time will tell.

For me I am accepting the fact he hasnt led a 4th q comeback win

lets go back to last year.......

Philly game, that wasnt Brett it was the D

San Diego, yes the Jennings td.....but that was the 2nd pass of that drive and if you ask me that was more jennings..

then the D got an int and 2 runs later Bjax gets a td...So did he really put him on his back and led them not really......

Denver that was all Brett, but people forget we got ball 1st in ot...

unlike this year vs Tenn, where we didnt get a chance...How ever the Tenn game he did not play his best..

Atlanta, the last time Pack had the ball they ran 8 plays, and he passed on everyone...went 7-8 and got a TD

Minn he got them to FG range,...Not his fault kicker missed it

So while on the surface to say he hasnt won them a game in 4th q sounds logical, but it really doesnt look that way when you look at each individual game and situation
