Joe Philbin's son reported as missing

OSHKOSH, Wis. -- Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin's son is missing.

Police in Oshkosh say 21-year-old Michael T. Philbin of Ripon was last heard from around 2 a.m. Sunday. He had been visiting friends in Oshkosh that evening. He was reported missing on Sunday evening.

His disappearance comes as the Packers prepare to face the New York Giants in an NFC playoff game Sunday in Green Bay.

he may have fallen through ice

Philben was last heard from around 2 AM on Sunday

an unidentified person was reported to have fallen through "shortly after 2:30 AM"

Philben was declared missing at 8 PM

no body was found on Sunday

the police resumed searching this morning

sad sad sad, hope it isn't true.

The first thing I thought when I read this was "sounds a lot like another story of drunk college student leaves bar and falls into river" and now you come at me with that link. Wow.

Philbin's body recovered <-- according to Jason Wilde's twitter, the team has been informed his son's body was the one recovered. What horrible news.

They just said on the radio they found a man who fit the description of Michael and believed the age to be between 20-25 as the latest news. Apparently they didn't check Twitter.

Terrible news for the Philbin family. As a parent, you never want to have your children pass away before you...especially so young. Tragic.
