Philbin  This article tells more about the incident, and also sheds light on what a humble, genuine person Joe Philbin is.

This is beyond sad. My son just turned 2 and I can't imagine losing him for any reason while I still breathe.

A thought about the accident. I was born and raised in Oshkosh and spent a lot of time down in the area where they found his body. I used to work at the marina next to Axle Tech. There is a trail that goes along the shore right there all along the UW-O campus, and easily accessible from the bars. Used to walk that trail a lot, and in the winter it is too tempting to do stupid shit on the ice. Called my sister in Oshkosh to ask about the ice on the river and there hardly is any, so really don't know what he was doing. And anyone that heeds the dangers of ice especially shy away from ice on a flowing river. Maybe he was with buddies who dared him to do something stupid and they haven't come forward yet because they are scared. Hopefully the investigation will be able to piece together the story so the Philbin family can move forward with their healing and not live with doubts about what happened that morning.

so incredibly sad. that kind of pain as a parent, i cannot imagine enduring. no matter the circumstances surrounding the death of a child, it would be absolutely heart breaking. the philbin family will be in my prayers.

That is truly devastating. This should never happen to someone like him. Packers surely will play hard and the fans will surely be loud for Joe and his family on Sunday.
