Your best chance to get into the organization would probably be as a scout. Nowadays, with the ubiquity of the internet, it's possible for anyone to achieve that dream. Subscribe to one of those services that gives you unlimited access to game tape and just start writing exhaustively about what you see. Take advantage of services like Facebook and Twitter and people will pick up on your blog. Eventually, if your opinions make any sense at all, you can come to the attention of networks or people working for teams. Another useful strategy is to start coaching for a middle school or high school team. One of my goals over the next few years is to get into personal training for a local school. It doesn't pay much -- if anything -- but it's a great way to get into the athletic community and start networking. Nowadays it's all about meeting people and word of mouth.
