I think this is bigger then people even realize. Reggie is the main scout. He is the guy who studies hours and hours of film, interviews potential NFL players, their families, makes road trips to colleges throughout the country. He is a key component in the whole scheme of things.

I feel you might see a dip in productive draft picks come the 3rd-6th round, where Ted Thompson likes to make his money.

Yes Ted Thompson has the final say in it all, but without Reggie, who is to say we would have guys like Jordy, CM3, Tramon (although he is terrible this year, granted not having Nick back there doesn't help) and countless other players throughout the years.

I have had similar thoughts, but overall I am not too concerned. I have every confidence that Ted Thompson has the wherewithal to hire quality replacements for his staff. Even if the new scouts come in raw, I am sure Thompson will have them rapidly inculcated into the culture of his organization. If they don't perform to standard, he will have no compunction about letting them go.

Yeah, they've been grooming him. The Packers have gone through Mike Reinfeld, John Schneider and now Reggie McKenzie. This is one hell of an environment in which to develop one's scouting skills. I think we'll be ok.
