Sucks might be the wrong word.
He is, at this point and likely the rest of his career, best as a dime back. To ask him to play play Nickel or (worse) start, you are in serious trouble. He gives you tremendous effort, his ability to understand the game has improved leaps and bounds, is very versatile, and is generally going to be in okay position. Can't ask more than that of a guy who should be nothing more than dime back. Of course, being Nickel today was putting him into a role that he isn't appropriate for so it's not surprising to expect him to give up plays.
On a different note: was it just me or did anyone else see Aaron calling plays from the sidelines? Wouldn't surprise me if McCarthy allowed him to do it.
