Why is it we can't generate any kind of pass rush ? Not just yesterday, seems like no matter who the QB is on the other side of the ball they can just stand back there and wait for someone to get open.

It's really as simple as not having pass rushing talent on the team. KGB, Corey Williams, and Cullen Jenkins combined for over 20 sacks last year. Their presence makes it easier for the other guys too. There's really no other way to explain it.

The lack of talent is part of it, but I firmly believe that Sander is not a creative coordinator who can overcome injuries and manufacture a rush.

Our blitzes are useless 90 % of the time; the team looks slow relative to many we play against; and the defense only works if the moon and sun are in proper alignment.

In an age where aggressive defense wins, ours is fairly passive....getting to the QB is the name of the game as offenses are so creative as to be able to overcome most of what they face if the QB is given enough time. And, we ALWAYS give the opposing QB PLENTY of time to perforn their vivisection of our defense.

Sanders eems like a decent guy, but if he is our D coord next year, my faith in MM will be shaken.

What pass rush? Our d line is the reason we're below .500 this year. If this is not addressed, nothing else matters. I am to the point now where I expect us to lose and have begun celebrating it pending a better draft pick, as the playoffs are out of reach. Either way though, our d-line leaves a LOT to be desired.

What really hurt was Jenkins going down because what he could do both from the inside and at end is sorely missed.

I think with him back and getting another really good RDE and we will be back in buisness.

Nothing from the right forcing a QB left hurts what Kampman can do and also leads to all the double teams he gets.

But what Jenkins could do from the middle on early passing downs getting in there is killing us right now. We basically have no rush when our opponents pass the ball on first or second down and we are not a playoff caliber team without it.

You guys all really share the same opinion, and I do too. Not having Cullen is really, really, really, hurting us. Aaron is almost a non presence(2 sack yes but...) and I now really see how important Cullen is to him. It doesn't allow a team to just double one guy because you have another to worry about. And we don't have that right now and we wont for the rest of the season unfortunately.

I think, yes Jenkins hurt, but it is the interior pass rush that is the most lacking... QB's are almost completely free to step up into the pocket, and if they choose to, can scramble easily.. we have no.. none.. notta ounce of push inside...

I will say it again.. Williams was able to give us that push inside, Jenkins could as well.. those two would rotate in on passing down with KGB looping way outside using his speed.. it was pretty effective most weeks.. 3/4 of that is off the field right now.. Pickett and Jolly are stand them up guys for the most part..

Add to that we have very little available to rotate at the ends giving Kampy a breather here and there.. amounts to what you see.. guys that aren't winning their match ups..

But it isn't just a RDE missing that would help.. but we got nothing inside.

Is Harrell that guy.. maybe.. maybe not..

Totally agree, except I think our coaches, whether they be Sanders or Winston Moss, are not good at teaching and co-ordinating blitzes.

When one of our best blitzers, Chillar, credits his time under Jim Hasslet for becoming the effective blitzer he has been this season, well I think that's really telling.

I think some new asst. coaches are going to be needed to take this scheme to the next level.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?

Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
