i think yesterday was the 4th time this year rodgers as had the ball in hand and failed to lead the team in a 4th quarter comeback to win the game , until he gets over that hurdle you will always have trouble winning games

I was going to start that thread, but didn't think people could honestly put down their axes enough to not erupt into a full blown flame fest. Pro and anti Rodgers people alike.

But the hell with it.. reality at this point an time.

Rodgers had plenty of time yesterday to make a serious run at a winning drive..

I want to preface this correctly.. I admire the way Rodgers has played this season.. he is a solid QB, smart in most decisions and surprising tougher than I thought he was.. he has proven that time and time again this season.. if you still had doubts, that Peppers hit yesterday should have sealed it. He is not the reason we are where we are.. point blank.

But inexperienced or not.. he hasn't proved that he can take over a game when he has no choice but to...

Some QB's have that ability to make it happen when there isn't the next series... Matty Ice in Atlanta is doing it his rookie year, so it isn't all experience..

It is too early to definitively say Rodgers can or can't be that player, the variables are to vast to say it is him or not... but to this point, he hasn't shown that "it" factor at the end of the game.

Agreeing with a Viking fan... what next.. a booming economy and a loto winning ticket?

Try to be real about this post.. I know for some that isn't possible... but at least try to be adult about your posts...

That "it" factor is what separates good QB from great ones. Elway, Montana, Favre - they all had it (Favre still has it). Unfortunately, it's apparently something that's very difficult to scout, or see in practice.

Rodgers is a good QB - better than I thought he'd be - but a having "good" QB isn't enough to carry a team. This year's Packers have some problems - and most of those problems we had last year, too. Favre's... "presence", let's say... made us better than we were.

I don't say that because I'm a Favre worshipper or a Rodgers hater (I'm neither). I say it because it's the truth, or at least, it seems to be the truth so far. Rodgers hasn't lost any games for us, but he hasn't taken over and won any for us, either. Hopefully, that will change.

I will agree with the other games where he failed to lead the team to a 4th quarter comeback. But yesterdays game he did lead his team to a 4th quarter comeback. He literally put his team on his back. Rodgers and company put up 31 points and absolutely dominated the time of possesion. He left the defense to a very favorable situation to win the game but them and the special teams blew it. The score shouldn't of even been that close.

I think this is horseshit. He showed it in the first game against the Vikings. and how many times do you want him to win it for you. Yesterday he did more than enough to get the win... and the special teams and defense let it slide once more. I mean how many times did Brett Favre have 2 game winning drives in 17 years?

Favre's first season. end result 9-7. that mean according to several of you guys logic... Favre alone didnt do enough to win 7 games. something we can still do as well.

I think its all a bunch of spoiled fans grasping at straws to explain an unfortunate, unbalanced, injury filled year.

I love how we give Aaron Rodgers 1 half of a year before saying he just doesn't have "it"... but we're fine with giving Favre a 12th year to prove he wouldn't choke in the playoffs.

Rodgers DID lead the team for the go ahead score....poor play selection/execution prevented it from being a touchdown, and awful ST and D gave the game away. And if there is any reason to believe that Rodgers is a game manager, I would be inclined to believe that it has something to do with MM's lack of willingness to open the playbook in those clutch moments.....more a poor reflection on MM than AR.

I think MM is a fine coach, but he and this team are in a deep funk that he needs to correct, and soon.

This team's record is not about the QB....who has been a fairly consistent bright spot this year. It is about a rigid D coord who can only make it work if/when the stars are aligned right, who lacks creativity in scheme design.

In a nutshell, Sanders has created and called a defense around our superb bump and run corners, but seems to forget that 11 men are on the field at one time. He certainly plays to our strengths, but is so consumed in that mindset that he fails to manage/minimize our weaknesses in the front seven.

I have to agree with 123. He did launch a comeback. It just happened to be immediately followed by a Carolina comeback.

I thought his main error yesterday in the final 1:30 was trying to go for the big play too much. With that much time and 2 TO's, you can take what the defense gives you for a while and work your way down the field. Easier said than done obviously. The over-aggressiveness sort of reminded me of another QB we used to have 'round these parts.

If special teams and the defense stepped up we would be celebrating Rodgers driving us to a big comeback.
