And how does this all help/hurt JJ chances of playing well?

That said the notion that the "White Male" has a disadvantage in this society riles me up is an understatement.

IMO, it isn't that the White Male is being suppressed via employment compensation.. but instead a increased supply in qualified workers becoming more diverse.

In other words a product of the growth of equal rights in this country, not just in the race but in gender as well.

It is only logical that there would be downward pressure upon the "White male" segment in the economy using nothing more than economic principles.

As the resource that is employees becomes more diverse and balanced among gender and race, the natural progression of the dominate holder of the past in that segment is to decline. It isn't because of that there is some disadvantage being created to suppress that group.. it is that the competition caught up and are challenging them directly.

Zero.. please split this tangent off for further discussion.. as it deserves it in my opinion. THANKS.

As for tangent posting - since I'm a major offender, I will try to better. Dr. Death put me in a place of not giving damn this morning, but he knows I still love him.

James Jones is not worthy of 5 pages anyway so lock this bad boy down.

Took about 6 minutes to move/join the posts to this topic. Enjoy! :)

DakotaT, off topic posts will happen, the only time I don't like seeing it is when it ruins a thread that had legs. Other than that, sure, it makes the site look like crap, but its not that big of a deal. How many times does the convo you have with someone end on the same subject it started? Right?

However, yes, it does blow. It's why I haven't been splitting posts into new topics. It's a bummer.

On this topic.. a reference study could be Race and the Invisible hand ... based on a 2003 study by Deirdre A. Royster.

Directly looks upon the wage issue brought up in this thread and the speculative reasons for the variance.

93, your analogy is much better, but I don't accept that as gospel either. We want a world of equality and freedom for all men. THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT FIXING THE PAST FIRST. Sorry to yell but two by fours upside the head is a necessary tool on occassions in which we find ourselves today. White man's burden is to right the wrongs in which we profited and find ourselves in the luxuries we now enjoy. The time has come to share it all.

Greed is a powerful thing and it consumed the white hook, line, and sinker throughout the centuries...

It is over with. Let's move forward.

There's something interesting about the past, it can NOT be changed. You can only change the FUTURE. Anyone with a bee-size brain knows this.

The fact of the matter is, there will always be some discrimination between men, women, old, young, etc ... it's just a fact of life. And it's because there's a great deal of people who LOOK for excuses as to why they are not successful. "If I was a man, I'd be making more money!". "If I was white I'd have the riches I deserve"

So many want to fight this racial discrimination card and yet are hypocrites of discrimination themselves. It's absurd, shut up and sit down. You're not a Saint. So quit your high and mighty rant of white men needing to carry any burden of whatever nonsense you speak.

If ANYONE (gay, straight, white, black, indian, hispanic, asian, etc, woman or man) struggles to find work, get a partner, get this/that, it's on THEM, not white men to alleviate any burden of what happened 50+ years ago. The fact it's being said that there is a BURDEN on white men to fix the wrong ... you just put white men ABOVE non-white folks. Hypocrite.

This country is too politically correct and too many whiny ass clowns want to find ways to scam money rather than getting their hands dirty and earning it.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
