Yes, it wasn't a great game. But it was a better game than several other recent SB winning QBs, for example Ben Roethlisburger who was outplayed in all 3 SBs, and still was on the winning end of 2 of them.

As you said, a QB can't do it alone. I really think McNabb got an unfair amount of blame for the Eagles not winning it all. They never were the best team in the NFL when he was on them. Their best 2 years were 2002 and 2004 and the teams that beat them were the best teams in the NFL both times.

But I won't put McNabb in an elite category either. He's no Aaron or Tom Brady. But he's definitely under-appreciated.

Here is some things on that 2004 Eagles team that some overlook.

That was a team built on defense.. they were tied for #2 in scoring defense behind the Steeler and tied with the Pats. They had one of the weakest schedules on the docket that season and they occupied a division that no other team was better than 6 wins.

And they had 4 weapons that surrounded McNabb pretty well in TO, Pinkston, L Smith and Westbrook.

I don't buy into the notion that McNabb was never afforded the weapons to win.. albeit Pinkston was a weaker #2 and their overall receiving corps was average or below.

Macbob - Heh. Nah, Favre either is outstanding or epically fails. This game was a slightly above average effort. Favre is never like that. He either goes 100+ rating or throws cringing interceptions in Playoffs. I should blame Favre for my hair loss.

I'm not too much worried about the Vikings offense. Their playcalling was EXTREMELY vanilla yesterday. I don't know why, but hopefully it gets addressed. It was like Chilly was back, calling plays again.

I'm more upset at how the Vikes defense refused to cover the short routes (especially the RBs) and their mental mistakes.
