Our Defense is gonna scare us and thrill us, and on the last play, it thrilled me, and beyond that, perhaps I'm greedy.

Friggin' (former) 'Aint's' are good. The Pack looks better (to me). The Pack looks like (possibly) the best team ever, to me.

Winning on Thursday night of the opening week is a nice thing. I'd love to get used to it. I'm happy, and that is somewhat rare.

Man, I like this statement. Because sometimes I forget about what the 3-4 is really about and how different it is to most of us. And you're right. And I hate that you're right. And I also kinda love it too.

I wouldn't be. I have expressed my distaste for defenses centered around gambling for turnovers many times in the past. I would far rather see a boring defense that stops offenses cold in their tracks with solid, fundamental tackling, than a flashy defense that needlessly gives up yards angling for a couple of spectacular interceptions or strips per game. Turnovers undoubtedly do lead to wins, but yardage and time of possession also can lead to losses.

For the record, in response to what Shawn and Greg have been saying, I never predicted that defenses in particular would be sloppy coming out of the gate. I predicted that football in general would be particularly sloppy for at least a month. Frankly, I was surprised how well the offenses performed last night -- particularly the offensive lines. I figured it would take a few weeks for the offensive lines to gel and that we would see maddeningly poor protection, with quarterbacks scrambling for their lives and lots of balls thrown out of bounds. That didn't happen on Thursday, which meant that the game turned out to be an aerial extravaganza. Drew Brees averaged 8.55 yards per attempt, while Aaron Rodgers averaged 8.91 yards per attempt.
