McCarthy: "He's been looked at and they did classify it as a bruise. " Sigh of relief? "No doubt about it."

From the way that collision happened and the way Tramon looked all night after? Dunno if I can call that a bruise.

You guys are mistaking sarcasm for irony. I am not talking about saying something and meaning the opposite. When I refer to sarcasm, I am talking about saying things in a hurtful, mean-spirited, or snide way. A lot of times people on this site fail to assume good faith and interpret things meant to be matter-of-fact or even facetious as being mean. If we try to assume good faith, then people like DakotaT or myself can be snarky and tell people they're being dumbasses for thinking we're being nice when we actually are being jerks. [grin1]

Alright I should probably stop trying to be a smart ass since (Nonstopdrivel) you're trying to help. But honestly I don't always think sarcasm is bad... it can be funny... but I think you're calling good intention funny sarcasm... snarky... and saying sarcasm implies it was meant in a negative way (which I don't define it as having to be negative which you are)

I agree with Pack93z it looked to me like there wasn't much shoulder involvement during the hit, looked more like a hyperextension of the elbow or a strain to the medial collateral ligament to the elbow. Anything with the elbow should be able to be wrapped and he should be able to play. McCarthy could very well be saying shoulder just to throw off the future competition, but I just kind of doubt it. If it IS his shoulder, I'm thinking a Bankart lesion, which involves the labrum (probably more familiar to the typical sports fan). Prognosis of a Bankart: not good.

Seriously though and joking aside.. I would rather him sit a week or even a couple than putting it at risk.

Additionally.. I wish as fans we could trust our teams representatives on face value instead of doubting their word based on competitive advantage. But the is not reality and that doubt will always be there. See Clay Matthews in the second half of last season.. aches = rather serious and affecting shin issues.

Also i wonder if he was pointing at the very tip top of his tricep muscle or a very low spot on his shoulder, but they're reporting shoulder so....

So if you tear your elbow like some guys tear their knees do you think guys could wrap it up and go play a full season? (I honestly don't know and I'm asking)

Actually, its now being reported that Williams has a bruised shoulder. So bruises all-around.

Seems like good news.

If you have sprained or torn ligaments in your elbow, you should be able to wrap it up to the point of immobilization and he should be able to play on it. The problem with playing an entire season with something like that is that from a decreased ROM due to pain (when the immobilization is off) he could develop calcium deposits, like bone spurs, muscle contractures, and a number of other things. It just depends on how badly injured he is. If it is bad, even if he feels able to go, I'm thinking they would discourage him heavily and call for surgery. That's if it would be really bad, and if it would be in the elbow.

As I said, I kind of doubt that 🇲🇲 would lie about saying it is the shoulder when it's actually the elbow, so I believe 🇲🇲 when he says it is his shoulder. Like I mentioned before, if it is a Bankart lesion then he'll be in for surgery and probably out for the season. Here's hoping that is not the case.

Wikipedia Bankart Lesion if you want more info on it, but according to my Orhopaedic Rehabilitation book, "A relative indication for surgical intervention is a younger patient, especially an athlete who desires continued participation in sports activities". Rehab would be intensive with return to sports in 6 months, maximum improvement in 12 months.

Sorry guys. Don't shoot the messenger.

EDIT: This is only if he has a Bankart!!!!
