I have a better idea than using fag stats, Zombie. Let's stick Ryan Grant on a mediocre offense, and make him the focal point of that offense and we'll see just how very pedestrian he is. He benefits from teams being scared shitless of our passing game, rarely does he face 8 in the box like Peterson does every play, and he still breaks far too few tackles. In fact Ryan Grant shouldn't even be in the same sentence as Peterson.

This offense needs skilled backs that can catch a fricken ball. Ryan Grant is seriously overated and now he's one year removed from his last 1,200 yard season. Get a grip on your loyalties people. The guy is still a millionaire, but his days are numbered in Green Bay - because he has some serious talent breathing down his neck. Thanks Ted.

As for Nerdmann, I thought getting the boys riled up was my job - kudos to you sir.

Just wish Edgar Bennett was still our RBs coach. He did a dang fine job as an RB coach.

Actually, no people don't. For instance, he's shown absolutely nothing as a runner (you know, the primary job of a running back). That was the point of my first post; that you just keep stating things as universally held truths with little to no support.

Right, Grant came to Green Bay around week 1 after offseason workouts, OTAs, and training camp. He came a massive two weeks earlier in '07 than did Nance in '10. Yet, Grant still managed to average 5.1 yards per carry and run for 956 yards after he beat out Brandon Jackson and Deshawn Wynn. That is, by the way, the same Brandon Jackson that Dimitri Nance failed to even sniff beating out.

I never heard anything about Grant having trouble with the playbook like I did with Nance. My understanding was that he didn't produce much because he was the third string running back behind two young guys with hype and potential (even though very little of it was eventually realized). Nance came in as the second string halfback (Grant and Starks injured) but couldn't beat out an ineffectual Jackson and a fullback picking up the slack as best he could.

Regardless, even if Grant was slow picking up the playbook for the first half of the year as you implied, his first season in Green Bay shits on Nance's. There's no comparison. If I recall correctly, Grant produced more on the ground in the second half of '07 than any other running back in the league. Over the first two and a half years Grant spent in Green Bay, I believe only Adrian Peterson had more rushing yards.

I never stated Nance was a better "runner." What I said was that he's better at other things than ONLY "third down pass pro guy." Such as receiving, cutting, seeing holes, stuff like that.

2: Yes, Grant did well, after week 10 when he was finally able to contribute. Meanwhile, Starks was taking over the position late in the season last year. Still none of this has anything to do with the "third down pass pro" role. Which btw, Grant is STILL not even being mentioned as. So far Grant is the only one NOT mentioned as getting a shot at that role. Weird, isn't it? He's willing to take a million dollar pay cut, but not willing to go to the coach and ask for a shot at that role? Are you saying Grant is some kind of a pussy?

No. He's clearly the #1 guy. Is there a guy who is even arguably better than Aaron Rodgers? Not that I can tell.
Another thing about Jennings and Rodgers. These are guys who want to improve their game in every possible way. It just strikes me as odd that Grant isn't doing that. Does that make me a hater?

Alex Green, doubtful, we've only seen pre season play out of him and looks like a better candidate for 3rd down back than primary back.

Dimitri Nance, extremely doubtful, he struggled mightily during regular season against starters last year. And apparently is struggling to understand the offensive playbook.
