Dear Nick,
CC is a Hall of Famer.
But he's still a Grade A asshole, IMO.
Yrs,
Wade
(and yes, I know there are lots of assholes in the Hall of Fame. It's not an award for character, after all.)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

As opposed to say....I don't know, let's see...well.....James Lofton.

Cris Carter
8-time Pro Bowler & 2-time First-Team All-Pro
8 seasons 1000+ yards receiving
130 career touchdowns

James Lofton
8-time Pro Bowler & 1-time First-Team All-Pro
6 seasons 1000+ yards receiving
75 career touchdowns

I miss those hands and that attitude on the Vikes.

I think the years Cris wasn't dominant are probably why he isn't in already. But his production during his dominant years should be more than enough to put him in there.

Largent was an All-Pro once. He NEVER led the NFL in receptions or receiving TDs. He did lead the NFL in receiving yards twice.

Now, Carter was an All-Pro twice. 3 times he led the NFL in receiving TDs. Once with receptions. He's got more receiving yards in his career than either Largent or Monk. He's even got more receptions and receiving TDs than either Monk or Largent.

How can one honestly say Carter wasn't more dominant than Monk or Largent?

VR - Lofton was one of the greatest deep threats of all-time. He excelled on horrible teams. His yards per catch are off the charts and when he retired, he was #1 all time in receiving yards.

Personally he will get in.. it will just take time much like Art Monk.

IMO.. I think in many ways Carter was under-rated for what he brought to a team by the national press. Speaks volumes that Randy Moss, one whom doesn't seem to respect many, still has "ears" for Carter.

dfosterf (25-Jul) : It's my one day deal complaint dept. on shareholder meeting day
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Resulting in an actual drop of net revenue of 12.5%. She is from Minnesota. Just sayin'

Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : also, no bueno when a guy starts getting concussions right off the bat in his career
Zero2Cool (25-Jul) : Concussion is worse. Banks probably vet off day via back booboo claim
Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : @AndyHermanNFL Jordy Nelson out at camp today. No word if he’s in play for one of the two open roster spots ; )
