So you think losing Rice to take the top off a defense isn't hurting you? The Vikings have become even more easy to defend. The hell with 8 in the box, make it 9.

I hope for your sake the Gophers have a .500 season.

That said.. I think it was important for them to allow Ponder to develop off the field this season and watch behind a veteran. He simply isn't ready and with a shortened camp it would have heen a disaster, IMO this season and for his overall development as a whole.

I just think they settled on the wrong pony for that bridging of the gap..

On the denial.. mostly a joke.. but your first retort this morning brought it to mind. Instantly. lol.

The McNabb I watched last season had flashes, but overall just wasn't able to:

1) Avoid the rush at all
2) Put much on his throws, a number were late and lack zip.
3) get comfortable in the offense, a structured offense

I just have a hard time believing that he will have success at this point of his career, accepting that he won't be the first option to drive the offense (AP), and stay engaged.

Last season, he was traded for and given a big contract, said he was glad to be there and checked out rather quickly in the season.

I will hedge my bets against him.

Of course, time will tell.

Anyway, I thought Thigpen made more sense to bridge the gap between Favre and Ponder. The Vikings brass wouldn't have to worry about hurting anyones feelings for putting in Ponder. It'll certainly be interesting how McNabb plays in purple.

BTW, how are season ticket sales this year? Do your fellow lads in purple share your enthusiasm. Uncle Dumbass VR hasn't chimed in yet on anything except for his taunt of Longwell being better than Crosby.

I'm with Formo here. I think he'll be good for the 10 games he plays in as he has a chip on his shoulder and still does have ability (I'm more convinced morale in DC sucks).

But he's injury prone and the Vikings will finish the season without his services, especially due to the OL sucking big time. That OL is worse than da Bears. The only reason da Bears' OL looks worse is because of their scheme.

I have no clue how season tix are. I may consider picking up a seat or two when I get my raise. But might just hold off and wait to see if there'll be a new stadium and buy then.

I've been checking and the Vikings have yet to officially 'break' this deal. No splash page welcoming Donovan to Minny, no blog news, no contract news.. Nothing.

Also think it's of concern to me that they haven't officially inked any of their drafted rookies. Well, no one's reported that they've gotten any deals anyway.
