Would you guys go for him considering we're losing Barnett, probably Jones & Jenkins are leaving also. All tho, I'm assuming if we make this happen then we're back to square one and not having space to re-sign the young players in the following years correct?

Correct.

I like him but think the priority is signing our own guys.

I most certainly would not. He isn't exactly the face of the Vikings organization, but he still was a Viking and I don't think I could handle that. It's just the same as Longwell or Sharper going to the Vikings (Favre going to the Vikings was much more extreme than this). It's just not right.

If our cap situation were better I would consider it. But no, as people said above, resigning our own guys is more important.

Fuck Sidney Rice and screw the Vikings. I vote we never sign a player that wasn't on our team (because we were forced to for playing games and stuff šŸ¤ ) that actually stepped foot in that rat-hole of a so-called state. I think that would be an outstanding "rule-of-thumb" going forward...

eg:

Agent: "You know if you sign this deal with the Vikings the Packers will always consider you devoid of any worth, as a matter of policy."

Player: " I don't mind, I'm in it for this big payday, anyway."

If I were you guys, I would be worried about cap space trying to sign Rice. Whomever gets him, whether it be Minny or Seattle (rumor I heard today) will severely overpay him. Not Berrian level, but more than one good/great year is worth considering his durability 'issues'.

I'd love to keep him on my team, but not at the risk of overpaying for him.

He has a lot of talent and I was miffed when the Vikings drafted him as I quite liked his potential. However, he's only once played a full 16 game season and he is almost certainly going to demand more than what he's worth based on what he's shown us. Right now he's somewhat like Javon Walker when he left us. He's had one monster year and is coming off an injury marred season, though Walker's dominant year and injury were greater. He could regain his form or he could flop. The return is just not great enough for the risk.

Mucky Tundra (18h) : Missed FG into a Lions TD; that'll do pig, that'll do
Mucky Tundra (18h) : That might be it for the Vikings
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Oh so the refs do know what intentional grounding is
Mucky Tundra (18h) : what the hell was that Goff?! Not much pressure and he just air mails it to Harrison
Mucky Tundra (19h) : They really need to to get rid of the auto first down for illegal contact
Martha Careful (19h) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Even when GB got pressure he was throwing darts; vs no pressure on that last pass he just air mails an open guy
Zero2Cool (19h) : didn't have guys in his face ... pressure makes difference
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Where was this Darnold vs GB?
Mucky Tundra (19h) : BALL DON'T LIE
Mucky Tundra (19h) : how was that not a safety? Goff throws it at an offensive lineman
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Zero, I thought that was a given! ;)
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Zero I looked through earlier and noticed the same thing. Bonkers year. I just wonder if beast put any money on games

Zero2Cool (22h) : Rodgers passes for 3rd TD. might be last game of an amazing career
Mucky Tundra (22h) : "The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry."
Zero2Cool (23h) : Owner ... love it
Zero2Cool (23h) : Mayo was the guy they groomed for HC and one of the reasons they let Bill go.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Pats have the #4 pick, lots of cap space and Maye at QB; should fetch some attention
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Well that didn't take long; Jerod Mayo out as Patriots HC
Zero2Cool (5-Jan) : I would expect it to be higher in favor of Eagles
Mucky Tundra (5-Jan) : Thst line seems...generous
Zero2Cool (5-Jan) : Eagles -3.5 over Packers in Wildcard Round
Mucky Tundra (5-Jan) : Did it though? Pokes beat the Commanders on the road with Cooper Rush previously
Zero2Cool (5-Jan) : That gives them their best chance
Mucky Tundra (5-Jan) : Cowboys starting Trey Lance at QB vs Commanders; GB vs Philly in the Wild Card incoming!
Mucky Tundra (4-Jan) : Stinks for Lloyd. Hoping he comes back strong for next year
Zero2Cool (3-Jan) : Packers placed Marshawn Lloyd on reserve non-football illness list
Zero2Cool (3-Jan) : Luke Getsy been helping Packers defense. He's former OC Bears/Raiders and our old QB coach
beast (2-Jan) : Thanks dfosterf, I'm still kicking myself for last week, as I forgot to change to pick Vikings and Lions... after putting in a holding spot.
Zero2Cool (2-Jan) : First alternate: Elgton Jenkins Other alternates: Jordan Love, Kenny Clark, Keisean Nixon, Tucker Kraft, Josh Myers, Jaire Alexander

dfosterf (2-Jan) : There was quite a bit of "chalk" matchups this year it seemed, but not this week coming up
