The 70's had some great Rock music, unfortunately, that decades music was also tainted, corrupted and overwhelmed by that shit known as Disco.
Damn,I hated that crap...it was everywhere back then.

Normally, I would not even post that kind abomination that was dared to be called music....but this is a cheesehead forum....so suffer!😉

Now this next one, in my opinion, is awful. I was driving long distance in a rental car through the Australian wild about 10 years ago with my brother and I said, "You know what we need to hear....some Kiss!" No kidding, the radio announcer came on shortly thereafter and said they had some Kiss coming up. I was thinking Detroit Rock City. Love Gun. Black Diamond. This is the shite we got.

All of us, I expect, have artists we wish we would have seen live when they were at the top of their game. Some who died before we were born, some who were big and have died since we were born, some who are still around, but just far past their prime.

I think this woman, however, is at the top of my list. She never made it big. Heck, almost no one out of a small part of the east never heard of her before she died.

But I don't know how anyone, when she starts to sing, could stop from stopping and listening and saying "oh, my God, is that voice magic!" Probably with tears in their eyes.

And I don't give a damn that they are all "covers", either.

There are countless stories of talents like this who never made the big stage for one reason or another but yet bimbos like Britney Spears and the like are manufactured into stars. Tom Petty said it best, "Get a young girl. They're always the best. Put 'em on stage and you have them undress. Some angel-whore who can learn a guitar lick. Yeah! Now that's what I call music!"

Here's another under-appreciated talent. Name was Paul Pena. Was recording his first album in 1973 when Wisconsin's own Steve Miller was in the next studio. Miller came over and heard Paul's original song called "Jet Airliner" and asked to cover it. Steve Miller Band made the song famous. Paul's record, including guests such as Jerry Garcia, was never released due to a dispute with his record label. He was still under contract so unable to record anything else. Finally, this was put out in 2000, robbing him of what would have likely been a promising career. Here's a song I like better than Jet Airliner called "Gonna Move."

Sorry to break your conversation, but this song is stuck in my head right now... And you can pretty much not not like it.
