Taddy Porter has this Southern Rock/Georgia Satellites/ Brother Cane rhythm to them.. it is more so the rips that grab me.

Not sure why I am "drawn" to this tune. ;)

All of us, I expect, have artists we wish we would have seen live when they were at the top of their game. Some who died before we were born, some who were big and have died since we were born, some who are still around, but just far past their prime.

I think this woman, however, is at the top of my list. She never made it big. Heck, almost no one out of a small part of the east never heard of her before she died.

But I don't know how anyone, when she starts to sing, could stop from stopping and listening and saying "oh, my God, is that voice magic!" Probably with tears in their eyes.

And I don't give a damn that they are all "covers", either.

A few more Eva covers...

This is the most non-blonde-sounding blonde I've ever heard....

Listen to this one with the eyes closed (IMO the slideshow sucks)...

And this one for those who I've grown old with who still say the 60s had better music than the 70s...

Normally, I wouldn't really care, but you also bunch in The Who with your 60s stuff. And while most of their stuff I like is from the early and mid 70s, My Generation, for instance, did come out in '65.

That said, most of the bands I was going to use here did have their biggest hits and/or became really popular in the 70s, so I guess you guys are right.

Rock - Where did you get I hate the Who? I dislike their pop stuff that everyone else likes. However, Keith Moon's tremendous and I liked when they got all prog and weird. The soundtrack to Tommy's pretty good. OK, that was 1969. I'm off by a year.

Deep Purple had some decent prog stuff in the late 60s but their best work was in the 70s. Then of course, the 70s was known for prog. The 60s' songs were too short and didn't have the depth/changes that the 70s songs had. With obvious exceptions (like Jimi Hendrix), the musicians of the 70s were much better too. Take a look at someone like Queen. Could Night of the Opera come out in the 60s? Nobody would have bought it.

And yes, I hate the Beatles although I now give them credit for their work in the studio. Not musically as I hate pop, but their experimentations with stereo helped a lot of future recordings.

Pink Floyd's best work was in the 70s even though they were a 60s band.

The 70's had some great Rock music, unfortunately, that decades music was also tainted, corrupted and overwhelmed by that shit known as Disco.
Damn,I hated that crap...it was everywhere back then.

Normally, I would not even post that kind abomination that was dared to be called music....but this is a cheesehead forum....so suffer!😉
