Personally I think Cobb was brought aboard to improve the quality of the depth of the 5.. IMO.. Swain didn't develop into the return man many hoped for and I might be harsh here, but hasn't really improved to the point that he challenged any of the top 4 for playing time..
I think the Packers are looking for a 5th receiver than can be the solution for a return man (protecting Williams) and be a long term answer in the WR corp. I am not sold on Swain.

And a 2nd round pick to improve the 5th WR spot? Not sure I can buy that as one of the main reasons they picked Cobb though yes he does do that.
I think they picked Cobb because they hope he can be a very good returner, and sometime be on of the top 3 WR on the team in the future.
Also because I think MM is expanding his offense still and is adding a couple more tricks, like last year we saw WR screens (though they mostly failed and I thought they were kind of draw up poorly... as they had Driver blocking for Jordy... when it probably should of been the other way around IMO)
MM talked about not having a good return guy and it being his fault for not getting them more involved with the offense. So I'm expecting a WR run, WR screen and just maybe a WR pass this year.
I always did want to see what Blackmon and his return skills could do on offense. Blackmon could of been great at a run reversed to him as a WR.
