Although Ryan Grant has struggled for most of the season, somehow he is #11 in the league in rushing. Here are the stats:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/stats/2008/rushing/0_byRUSH_YDS.html

His 3.9 yards per carry is actually better than the yards per carry of some pretty big names, including LaDanian Tomlinson, Marshawn Lynch, Jamal Lewis, and even the Bears' rookie prodigy Matt Forte.

I'm not claiming that Grant's stats are good, just that they are not disastrous. And the best is yet to come. In the last few games, he has looked a little leaner, lighter, and quicker in each one. The hamstring is finally healed. I'm looking for him to finish the season in a big way.

This is a stat I wouldn't really expect, looking at how bad he had been the first few games (Had a 3.6 average before last week) and how good our passing game had been.....

Two things that helped in these stats is McCarthy's faith in him, and he seems to be right. Letting him run 30 times for just a 100 yards seemed somewhat strange to me, but the man ofcourse sees alot more than I do.

Second is that we have, imo, two good RBs, yet, Grant is the only one getting carries. Jackson has had just 31 carries while Grant has nearly 200 already.

Lets just hope he keeps going the way he did last game. At some times he's comparable to AP, sometimes he seems to be comparable to Cedric Benson.

I just want to remind some people, that Grant could of easily gotten 100-150 extra yards this season up to now ... but he didn't due to holding penalties. Also, it's only his second season, which is his first season starting 16 games. His still young :thumbright:

I was looking at his stats earlier this week. It is amazing that he only needs 38.33 yards per game to reach the 1000 yard mark. While 1000 yards is not what it use to be, more than have of the strting RB fail to reach it every year. And if I remember correctly that is where his performance bonus money starts to kick in.

His poor performance in the beginning of the season was likely due to his injury. He didn't have the preseason to practice and get in correct football shape, after a few games and getting healed up he's been good. That combined with the run blocking getting better and better each week are most likely the main reasons for his better performance in the past 3 games against top run defenses.

That's one thing that I just don't get at all. Jackson has played well and is a nice change of pace from Grant. But McCarthy remains committed to a one-back approach. I would rather save some wear and tear on Grant and give Jackson more carries to keep him sharp in case Grant gets hurt.

Grant does seem to have good endurance, though. He usually gets stronger as the game goes on.

Plus, this is the part of the season where defenses begin to wear down so I see Ryan Grant having huge games down the stretch.

Jackson had 10 carries for 50 yards last week. That is a pretty good amount.
