Well, what do you cheesehead think of this?

Bell uncertain why he's not getting a Super Bowl ring
The agent for Packers cornerback Josh Bell said his client has not been invited to the team's Super Bowl ring ceremony Thursday in Green Bay and doesn't know why.

Bell injured his foot in the team's intrasquad scrimmage Aug. 7 and was placed on injured reserve three days later. He chose to rehabilitate his injury with the team rather than accept an injury settlement and be released immediately.

The Packers aren't expected to bring Bell back once the NFL lockout is over.

"His time there, as part of the organization, he enjoyed it," said Bell's agent, Frederick Lyles. "This is kind of a surprise. It’s unfortunate. I don’t know if it’s an oversight, considering the attention being paid to the lockout. We just haven’t been able to reach them and find out."

The Packers signed Bell to a two-year deal on Nov. 24, 2009 after they lost cornerback Al Harris to a season-ending injury. Bell played in four games for the Packers and played solidly at times, but was best remembered for allowing a last-second touchdown to receiver Mike Wallace in a 37-36 loss to Pittsburgh.

The Packers felt Bell was worth keeping around and brought him back for training camp last summer, hoping he would compete for a nickel or dime position.

The Packers wouldn't comment specifically on Bell not receiving a ring.

"We haven’t discussed those details publicly," club spokesman Aaron Popkey said. "We feel it’s an internal matter out of respect for everyone involved."......

It does seem peculiar that they would give Harris one but not Bell.

Honestly I feel bad for him. Yeah he didn't play a single down but he was on the team. This is very possibly a once in a life time thing. Unless he did something wrong that hurt team chemistry or something I don't see why not just give it to him (well other than it cost a lot of money...)

I think that felt like they had to drop the line some where and they were willing to cut him loose with an injury settlement and he choose not to. So that was the line to also not give other guys like Will Blackmon who was in the same position but choose the injury settlement.

Of course they made a special case for Harris and they're giving him one but he was had been with the Packers a good while and started all that time.

Bell didn't and they weren't willing to give Harris and injury settlement at the start of the year. (plus Harris is a lot time starts and player for the Packers while Bell an Blackmon weren't)

But I think that's where they drew the line for IR guys... weather they were going to keep them or not at the start of the year.

I wonder if any practice squad players will get a ring (Kuhn did as a practice squad player with the Steelers)

Feel a little bad for Bell, but to me it seems logical to treat him the same as Blackmon. Offered both of them injury settlements, main difference is one took it the other didn't.

He should get a ring. He stayed with the team and rehabbed with the team in Green Bay throughout the season. Al Harris got a ring largely for the same reason, though he was on PUP and not IR.

I am sure there are grounds for giving him a ring just as there are grounds/reasons for not doing so. It would have been more compelling if Bell played for GB last season.
