Did the Lions miraculously find a secondary to go with that group? We countered the Lions pass rush with a screen game with this draft in case nobody caught that.

I'll start worrying about the Lions when they are capable of winning 10 games. I will admit that I miss Matt Millen though. They seem to be on the right track, finally.

They don't need a secondary if the OL can't slow up the DL like they couldn't last time they played.

Not sure what you mean by the screen game but the Packers tried WR screens last year and they normally failed and they had RB who could catch last year and Mike McCarthy didn't use to many Screens but they worked pretty well last year. But it didn't help much against the Lions as their DL kicked the Packers OL butt...

Only thing that is really going to help against that Lions pass rush is spreading it out and/or being able to run the ball.... which with Grant, Starks and Green the odds of being able to run the ball do improve but with Fairly added that makes it even harder to do.

I'd say if Suh or Fairly come out of the game for a breather or something... try going no huddle to not let them back in the game.

With Starks and more especially with Green, you will see a whole new screen game. Get those big interior DL pursuing sideline to sideline and wear their asses down. Then send in your fresh legged RB late in the third quarter and hammer it right down their throats.

Provided, of course, you have OL who are good at screen blocking.

Hey, I'm just saying....argh...did I just say "I'm just sayin"???

Anyway, I wanted OL OL OL. I got OL (WR,RB/TE) OL instead. I have to complain a bit.

I actually like the Cobb pick a lot, so I'm not going to complain about that. And there is no doubt that Green and Williams offer major value. But I'm still convinced that the Packers this offseason needed to add more starter-quality OL, one on the inside (to upgrade from Colledge) and one on the outside (to cover for the eventual loss of Clifton), and then a third for depth/practice squad.

They got one of the starter-quality in Sherrod. They got the extra depth in the Utah kid. That's two out of three.

Having more weapons is nice. Doing everything you can to protect the franchise from extra hits and providing interior blocking capable of dominating on third and short in the fourth quarter and executing screens time after time? That's more important.

So we now added our LT of the future after adding our RT of the future last year, have a RG who's playing at an All-pro level, have a very capable center and just one single hole, which I imagine is easily filled by at least 3 players on our roster and we still needed to draft more O-linemen?

Wade Millen would run this franchise into the ground.

Fairly was also basically a 1 year wonder. He could contribute to what could be a tremendous line, or he could be Jamal Reynolds, so I wouldn't crown their asses just yet.

Some people seem to be getting a little concerned about the Lions thanks to Scheffter and ESPN annointing them king of the draft with the impenetrable line already...but how are Charles Rogers, Aaron Gibson, Joey Harrington, and debatably Matthew Stafford doing lately?

Ok, to Rock for a creative insult.

Though IMO the Millen moniker should be reserved for those who insist on going after every skill player all the time, not for the minority of us who go nutso about the importance of the lines.

And who the heck said anything bad about Bulaga/Sitton? Heck, I'll go so far as to say we're fine at C with Wells and, so long as he stays healthy, Clifton. But a team with the best quarterback in football ought to have at least SIX quality-starter-level OL. GB had four going into this draft. Now they have five.

And a bunch of guys who are at best unproven. Or proven ... to be at best servicable.

The Packers won a Super Bowl with 15 guys on IR. Would they have won a Super Bowl if Aaron Rodgers had been on IR and none of those 15 guys had been? I don't think so.

With Aaron Rodgers, this team will contend for a Super Bowl for years. The best way to ensure they have Aaron Rodgers is to have an OL that minimizes the hits on the QB and can, at need, bang out two yards on any third down.

That's what I'm going to hammer at until they do, Ted Rock.

I'm with you. I wanted OL, OL, OL, and OL. I knew Ted would at least pick OT in the first two rounds and a OT or a G later.

I think most of those guys weren't drafted by the current Lions GM. And Stafford has been injury prone.

I could by wrong but I think even Jamal Reynolds might of looked better if he was playing next to Suh. I think we're faced better DTs than Fairly before... but they weren't playing next to Suh.

Of course they were playing Corey Williams last time who can be a beast pass rusher and MM mainly called pass plays... because the running game wasn't working so they knew pass was coming... I wonder what would of happened if they tried their power running game at Williams and the DE on his side and tired to stay away from Suh. Maybe the same thing... maybe not.

I acknowledge that Gibson and some of those other 1st round busts were selected by a previous GM...I was just reiterating not to count a chicken (draft pick) before it hatches. Jahvid Best looked great before injuries, Vanden Bosch and Williams could go the way of the 2010 version of Jared Allen, Fairly could be a bust, or they could be studs and SB champs next year.

It's just not worth getting worked up about other team's draft picks at this point.
