Absolutely, my initial argument was with Zero's sweeping condemnation of all oil executives (or poor/ambiguous wording).

It's always someone else whom was in error, never you, right? Awfully arrogant perception, maybe you're a programmer, lol. :)

I've done a fair amount of programming, but in my experience I always assume I was in error. After all, I'm writing the program and the compiler is doing exactly what it's supposed to, and the computer performing the exact instructions it's supposed to. If the end result isn't what I expected it to be, it was my fault. I also like to think that I admit that I'm wrong more than most people.
By the way, sorry in advance. There's just something about you that makes me want to ARGUE with you. Must mean I don't hate you ;)
"I really fail to grasp why gas prices need to be so high while these oil exec's continue to get massive raises and record profit. "
Sure, your previous message implies that at least some of your blame is being placed on the Transocean CEO in particular but "these oil exec's" seems to target a much larger group of executives.
I didn't condemn anyone, but when I see gas prices continuing to rise and they are making record profits quarter after quarter, it gets a little disheartening. I know inflation plays a role, just not how much. We as a nation are getting slammed at the pump, while these folks are living large.

See? Now that you're explaining things I really don't have much of a disagreement. A lot more specific and reasonable than your previous statement.
From a high level it appears the rich are getting more rich and the less rich are getting taken. I'm one of those folks that thinks the world should be more fair than lopsided. Also, I understand, the world isn't fair, but doesn't mean I can't think it should be.

I guess from my perspective, I just accept that any individual human will do a terrible job trying to create a fair world, simply because fairness is subjective. What you might think is fair isn't fair to others.
I also think I should be able to own a Lamborghini without having to be an athlete, CEO of a company taking advantage of others or by winning the lottery to do so. Maybe if I had excellent credit, no kids and two jobs I'd be able to make payments on one?

Why stop there? Wish for a rocket car with VSTOL. How many times have you been stuck in traffic and wish you could just fly over it? Then again, imagine the mileage you'd get on that. Playing right into the hands of the oil companies!
