Look for the name Christian Anthony in the 3rd Round.

He's from Grambling and was the Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year in'09. He got popped in the chest in practice that caused swellin of an artery so he was held out in '10 but has been cleared and played well in the Texas vs. the Nation game with 1 and 1/2 sacks.

He's 6'4" and around 275 lbs. He's a perfect prospect who will need a little time but could be an oustanding OLB. He had 5 INT's in '09 and took two in for TD's.

If you hear his name called by the Pack be happy.

Another name I am going to throw out to you is Greg Little of North Carolina.

He played RB in his first two years and was switched to WR in '09 and had good numbers for a team that didn't pass the ball too well. He was one of the players suspended in '10 so he is raw but his body at 6'2" and 215 lbs will allow him to be the type of player that can eventually replace Driver.

Since the Packers have the luxury of being able to be patient at this position with Driver still there this is the kind of mid round gem Thompson could afford to go with. Good hands, powerful, can run after the catch, and has the body type to run the tough routes they use Driver for.

War,

Isn't Little up to about 230Lb of brick shithouse? I saw him on NLFN last night and is projected to be a real good possession receiver, but they expect him to drop into the third round.

Anyone see that Pack taking a Wisconsin guy? Both JJ Watt and Gabe Carimi look like they can be starters from day one and have the work ethic Ted and Mike like. There's a good chance one of them will be available after pick 20 and fit needs for GB. That could be what Ted is looking for. I could see us trading up somewhere in the late teens early 20s.

This draft just seems like there are a lot of decent players, but only a couple game changers. I know Ted will grab a good guy at 32, but I'm just not sure that there will be a game changer available there.

I think your right on the weight. I went by a profile that might be a little old his personal stats.

I'm going by my original theory that Ted can afford to find value picks that might need a little time. When you look at Anthony and Little they look like guys with a boatload of potential and with starters returning the Packers can afford to bring these guys along.

Seems to have worked with Finley but not Jeremy Thompson. I like the underclassmen huge upside approach. We are now in a position to draft this way, but I just hate having the practice squad raped and pilleged.

I still say trade up in the first round and get a LT and screw the Bears, Steelers, and Ravens in the process.

I was thinking this way originally but switched to believing Ted may try to get more picks in the second and third round. We were missing the impact players needed when the changeover was made to the 3/4 and Ted took a different approach to get that done.

Now I can see him getting value with picks that probably would have gone higher but need some work. I've been noticing players like this that could help with ST's now and step into a bigger role over time.

IMO this would be maximizing the advantage we have of being a deep team vs. teams that will pass over upside with great potential for more ready now type players they need in order to improve right away.

We have a lot of players back like Finley, Burnett, Grant, Neal, etc, and players that will benefit from PT last year in Shields, Weldon, Zombo, and Peprah so grab some young guys with tons of upside now and bring them along.

I think it's a perfect place for Ted to really work his magic. I could see four or five projects in this draft that turn out to be really good football players.

I would be happy either way. It's great to be able to go in whatever direction you want. I am GUESSING Ted does it the way I described. I think it fits his comfort level more than the other way.

Our practice squad is going to get raped either way. We're too deep for that not to happen.

I think a lot of the teams drafting in the bottom of the first round will have opportunities to trade down or up. So many teams need QBs in this league, and with free agency and trades on hold, the draft may be the only sure-fire option to add a QB.

You have to think that Gabbert and Newton will go somewhere in the top 10 picks. Then, we have a ton of fringe first rounders like Locker, Kaepernick, Mallett, Ponder, and Dalton. Whoever misses out on Newton & Gabbert in round is going to desperate to get their QB. I could easily see 3-4 of these guys going late in the first round to QB needy teams.

Even if Ted doesn't make any trades, the more QBs that are drafted in round 1 will drop guys at other positions that can help the Packers. If 4-5 QBs go in round 1, there is a good chance that a top 15 talent could slip to GB.

ButI agree, with you warhawk. We are at a bit of a luxury being able to draft developmental, high upside guys because of our depth. Our team is going to be STACKED next year, when you think about the guys coming off IR and the development of guys like Burnett, Shields, Bulaga, Starks, Zombo, Raji, etc. I can't wait for football again.

beast (13h) : They probably are not tanking, but they've absolutely mismanagement some things, such as Vikings seeing the Packers blocked FG and realizing
Zero2Cool (14h) : Crazy of Bears to have that mindset that is
Zero2Cool (14h) : Hail Mary stop away from 5 - 2. Not sure how that flips to tanking. Crazy mindset if true
beast (15h) : I've quietly questioned if Bears are tanking on purpose... they suddenly got a lot worse with some simple concepts like 101 clock management
wpr (17h) : Watching bares fans melt down over how putrid their team is, so enjoyable. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Mucky Tundra (27-Dec) : The Seattle Seahawks defeat the Chicago Bears 6-3. Jason Myers had 6 RBIs for Seattle while Cairo Santos had 3 RBI for Chicago
beast (27-Dec) : Not nessarily, he might of been injured either way. He's playing about 50% of the games the last 4 years
Zero2Cool (26-Dec) : If they'd been more patient with him, he'd be back already. Putting him out there vs Bears caused him to tweak it and here we are.
packerfanoutwest (26-Dec) : well this is his last season with the PAck, book it
beast (26-Dec) : Sounds like no Alexander (again), I'm wondering if his time with the Packers is done

Martha Careful (24-Dec) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
