My guess is if both Reed and Houston are there that Thompson takes Reed. It's obviously just a hunch. There's no tellin' with him.

I have no fricken clue what we take at 32 because our team is stacked thanks to Uncle Ted. What I'd like to see is a trade up to Cleveland for Von Miller. Give them this and next year's 1st rounder, plus future consideration - being Barnett. What the hell they will be late picks anyway.

That guy will be like Orakpo and our defense will be even more of a nightmare than it is now.

If they would trade the pick for two first round picks and Barnett, I would take that in a heart beat. We're essentially only losing one first round pick considering we would get Miller with the other.

I don't see this happening at all. Also, no players can be traded right now anyway, which doesn't help our case.

I could see Ted pulling something like trading with Denver and giving them the #32 and #64 for their #36 and #46. I could see Ted targeting a player he projects gone by the middle of round two and making a move to secure two good players vs waiting to see what's there at #64.

Of course there would have to be a player there at #32 Denver wants that they feel will be gone by #36 and I have no idea what the "chart" says or what all it would take to make this equitable.

This just kind of strikes a chord with how I see Ted manipulating a draft. He gets the two guys he wants by the end of round two without really giving anything up.

Yeah, I could see something similar. Ted seems to target in a on a few guys and them does what it takes to get them. Whether that is trading back, trading up, or even "reaching" for some guys. I remember most draft experts thought he reached for James Jones, Josh Sitton, Nick Collins, and Mike Neal. All turned out to be great players, that Ted probably had no problem taking "earlier than he was supposed to."

People always say the the Packers are successful because of how Ted drafts, but really, the scouts are the ones who deserve a lot of the credit (not knocking Ted, he'd say the same thing). They tell Ted that this guy can play, and this guy can't. Then Ted does what it takes to get those guys on his team.

Here is my mock draft 2.0

http://www.fantasyfootballjungle.com/articles/index.php?id=1171

32. Green Bay Packers -- Danny Watkins, OG, Baylor
Perhaps no team has drafted as well as the Packers have under GM Ted Thompson. Five of Thompsons six first round picks started in Super Bowl XLV. Though they drafted Bryan Bulaga last year, the team still needs to upgrade their OL. The former Canadian firefighter, Watkins is a mauler and finishes blocks in the run game. Pairing him with RG Josh Sitton would give the Pack their best set of guards since the days of Mike Wahle and Marco Rivera.

It is worth mentioning that Watkins is 26, so the drawback is that he may only sign one contract and that is it.

For example, Aaron Rodgers is 27. He signed his second contract at age 24 or 25.

Here's a new Mock from Rotoworld

http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/nfl/37633/60/draft-2011-nfl-mock-30?pg=1

First Round:

32. Packers: Justin Houston, linebacker, Georgia.

Houston is considered raw from a technique perspective, but he's arguably the most explosive pure pass rusher in the draft. It's scary to think how dangerous Green Bay's defense could be with a talented bookend for Clay Matthews. Frank Zombo and Erik Walden are "just guys."

For the second round:

64. Packers: Rodney Hudson, guard/center, Florida State.

Hudson plays bigger than his size (6'2/291) and is an outstanding athlete coming off an extremely decorated college career. He could start day one in place of free agent left guard Daryn Colledge.

I think this would be a pretty nice haul. Houston has unlimited potential, and has solid experience in a 3-4. Hudson is smaller than most offensive linemen but, the guy dominated at FSU. I think he could be the future at LG or Center.

Both guys seem like good value picks at those positions as well.

beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.
